November 12, 20241 yr Is it already a solid addon? If it can only have one final update, what fix/improvement does it need before the release of MSFS2024? November 12, 20241 yr I am not from Team "Super Experts" but I can say I am using the ASOBO ATR regularily and do not notice any relevant bugs. For me it is one of the a/c that are good to pop in spontanously and do a satisfiing flight. November 12, 20241 yr It isn't a solid addon in my opinion. I fly it quite regularily but just because of lack of good regional turboprops. The systems and art are good, very good even. What ruins it are the bugs - every update seems to patch a few unimportant ones and bring new. Even though the latest update was boasted by Jorg himself as a very extensive bugfix it didn't patch any of the big ones but brought very apparent new errors like a fuel imbalance at the start of every flight and what makes me laugh the windshield wipers texture is broken now as a constant reminder of thge bugginess of this airplane. Is it good? Probably yes for its price if you don't plan at doing fancy vnav or systems deep learning.

The VNAV is a bit off, or maybe I am not fluent enough in the system, but I always set HDG, ALT, and VS 20 miles before TOD, instead of the VNAV. Always works, always rewarding. (When not in a mood to fly in normal speed, 4x speed is just fine. 8x speed always results in a bumpy ride). This addon received a big boost when Magnar decided to jump in. He made the best tutorials on YT. FS2crew quickly joins the momentum. The ATR can be flown by the book, thanks to Magnar, but it could be (at least slightly) better. Capt Magnar is now ofter associated with Asobo ATR, and this expands its potential. Not many aircraft addons enjoy similar privilege. I don't know whether the ATR will receive treatment after MSFS2024 is released, but sudden left turning during undergoing SID is a joy killer for me although I just experienced it once. The tablet can be more optimized as some reported inaccurate payload transfer. November 12, 20241 yr I'll be honest, I haven't gotten around to trying the most recent patch, but my most scathing criticism is the same as the CRJ - it feels very sterile, and a lot of things don't work consistently like they should. VNAV can sometimes be a mystery - sometimes I think it's because of a discontinuity, but other times it just doesn't want to work, and that's fine, it's a turboprop. You're rarely on a profile descent if you're going into a big airport with all the restrictions that might confuse the box anyways. I enjoy flying it, but it's not a favorite - exact same feeling as the CRJ. I can take it in doses, but it's not like the MD80, a plane I picked back up after an absence and have been flying for months now. In comparison, the ATR just doesn't feel "alive" if that makes sense.

I would re-buy this thing for $15 or more, if it meant getting the full 2024 treatment - I don't think that's unreasonable either since it's still relatively new and they have Hans engaged on this project and others. As long as it's not an overwhelming amount of work (and Asobo would know how to do it) to do, I'd probably expect a full 2024 version relatively quickly.

November 12, 20241 yr As said before, it still has some bugs and it's far from perfect. I've also had several issues using it together with the Aerosoft Pushback Tool (locked pushback truck in front of the plane after completing the pushback procedure, and difficulties to taxi after the pushback), with the new ATR version that didn't happen before. Still way to go, but in its current state is very flyable and enjoyable. I have to say I'm a lifetime fan of the ATR. November 12, 20241 yr I've been really enjoying the ATR lately; its avionics feel unique and surprisingly advanced. It’s such a nice change from the usual G1000, Airbus, and Boeing setups. November 29, 20241 yr Hi, Has anybody used it successfully in FS2024. I cant seem to set the condition levers to Auto using the mouse. The movement is erratic and they just spring back to Feather.
November 29, 20241 yr Off the top of my head I believe the Condition Levers are tied to the prop feather control. Check your bindings there for a conflict. I fly the ATR’s in both 2020 and 2024 frequently. You can too! Good luck, -B Edited November 29, 20241 yr by btacon
