MSFS 2024 Stuck on "Connect to Xbox Network" screen

Featured Replies

Just spins on that screen. I don't have my mouse or anything. Tried three times. Can't get past that screen. Trying to bring it up for the first time. Steam version. Just installed. Even opened the xbox app and made sure I was signed in to xbox.

I understand you actually have to click the connect button at the bottom. Yeah, great UI.

Yep, wasted 10 minutes staring at that, lol. The spinning circle makes it look like its already doing something.

Right. Glad you moved on to the queue stage. Then the error stage happens after that.

I'm on Steam so I also had the 'missing mouse pointer puzzle / Microsoft login box' to get past 😄

Hit ALT+Enter, that'll put MSFS into windowed mode, then you can click the xbox button.

Sorry but that is so bad, wasted an hour on that screen.

What a shambolic release

Sounds like when I was trying to watch the Tyson-Paul fight on Netflix. That little "wait" donut kept going around and around and around, etc.

Yeah, but then it won't take keyboard inputs when I try to enter my email!

OK, I got things working. Someone in another thread suggested unplugging my yoke and stuff and that allowed me to type! Got through the signup and got to the main menu. Logged out, reactivated my stuff and relaunched the sim and everything went smoothly. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of the window covers...

I'm sorry but I'm not hopping through special hoops just to start/sign in to a game. This is beyond rediculous. How something in this shape is allowed out the door is unfathomable. I requested a refund of my $219 from steam. Perhaps someday I'll reconsider if and when it ever works.

My keyboard seems to "deactivate" when trying to connect XBOX to Steam as part of the MSFS2024 run process.  Any ideas ?

Thanks !

Thank you; this is what fixed it for me on Steam Deck.

To any others with this issue on the Deck:  I went into Desktop Mode, opened Steam, started MSFS 2024, then when I got to the unresponsive green login button, I pressed Alt+Enter (I happened to be docked at the time).  The game switched from full screen to a window, and the button then turned white when clicked, and I could log in.  Once I was logged in once, future starts did not prompt me, and I could run it in Game Mode like normal.
