2020 flights load longer since 2024 release

Featured Replies

I have not added anything, not changed anything but since the 2024 release, once I click on ‘Fly’ in 2020 it takes a HUGE amount more time to load a flight than before. (I haven’t installed 2024).

Plus also I am seeing the ‘Bandwith too low. Switched to offline mode’ a lot more. This is despite me being on a 70mbps connection.

I don’t want 2024 yet, so why is it affecting my use of 2020 so much??

Looks like Asobo wants you to move to the cloud version. Just being cynical.

FS2020 loads as it did but my backache has been worse since they release MS2024.

How do I tell if MSFS has switched back to online mode? (In case I missed the green pop up).

Could 2024 release be causing these bandwidth issues??

Seems to depend on why it stopped in the first place - if it's kicked you from online because your internet connection has gone down then it will turn on Bing Data etc when it comes back up. However, if it's because of low bandwidth the sim itself goes back online, but you have to go and manually set it to use Bing Data, every time......

I don’t think I used Bing, just photogrammetry (at least I’ve never turned it on myself).

Well if you didn't have it on then the world textures would look like FS2000 and photogrammetry probably wouldn't work .. .. 😉

Ha! Thanks. Just turned it back on. Not had another ‘offline’ message so assume I’m back online..?

It appears that FS 2020 and FS 2024 server farms are in some way connected.

Got the same weather issue. Trying to fly EGLL-FACT and my altitude jumps up and down by 2,000 feet every few minutes because of sudden weather changes at CRZ.
What a nightmare this ‘24 mess has become, never had this issue in close to 500 flights before!

This whole thing is a joke. Avoided 2024 as I knew there would be issues. Never imagined the platform that has been so stable and worked so well for so long would be this badly affected.
What total chaos. Microsoft and Asobo should be thoroughly ashamed.

Same here, longer loading flights and the bandwidth issue.

I swore I wouldn't get it straight away, then like a muppet did. Now erased and refunded, I'll revisit it in the new year when CDKEYS have stock again and people say it's safe to get. Really annoyed that they have let it affect FS2020 though, that is shocking. Fortunately for me I have quality aircraft in 2 other sims, I can see this being the first month that XP gets more flights than MSFS.
