This was in civil twilight, looking downward, and I've seen this more than once--little cotton balls abound... Yeah, for what it's worth, I have never seen these "cotton ball" type clouds in MSFS 2024. And in the live streams I watch, I have not seen these cotton ball type clouds either. Anyways, if you are not using any graphical add-ons, and your clouds are set to Ultra, I guess there is not much that I can help you with (sorry, I tried to help, I hope you resolve your problems). i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

I don't see these as 'problems' I think they are just part of 2024 in its current state. Clouds and weather have taken some nice turns which are very visible, but for me it's not all good and I doubt it is for all others. It's nice not seeing the METAR related haze over cities, that's a plus for sure. I see more shapes hinting at distinct morphologies in 2024 which is a nice improvement. I believe cloud density actually went down considerably over 2020. I see skies full of very thin, plate-like morphologies. But some nicer wispy cirrus as well. The cotton balls thing was from on high in twilight and I can't imagine anything anyone could do to create those that are coming straight out of the sim in the right kinds of conditions. I've seen this twice now, both times in dim twilight. I do like the better scenery detail in the distance in 2024 and overall performance is very good esp considering the heightened detail. But as said elsewhere a lot of the super fine detail won't be seen, unless we crash into the vegetation as I did at KSBA when BATC insisted I land on Rwy 15L, relegated in the RW to Touch and Goes and Departures over the ocean. But in the end 2024 is really the sequel to 2020, is a whole lot of what 2020 is already, and I fully support 2024's further development and refinement. If by 'thin', you mean less opaque, I agree. But in terms of voxel density (think resolution), I think it's gone down and they offset this with shaders aimed at making them more opaque. Asobo and everyone else is up against big technical challenges due to the performance demands of 3D clouds and I give them full credit for what they've done in 2024 it's some nice change in some areas for sure. February 26, 20251 yr When you're in the Shock Ultra zipping through mountain passes low and slow in Idaho FS2024 looks incredible with the AI rock face placement, better trees and flora that matches the area better, better lighting, better clouds, but then you see cars driving up hills vertically on a forest road in the middle of no where and rivers meandering up mountains, trees in fields that are obviously not covered in trees. Photogrammetry bridges and docks still covered with water masks and you ask what did we really gain? Nothing was fixed, terrain still pops in pretty bad as well. At least the word not allowed runway lights are off in the day in good weather finally. but...Market place dosen't work, marketplace addons are completely disabled, I still have 50+ addons that don't work even though they promised us backwards compatibility as the number one put the pitchforks down peace offering. Then you hear the stall horn because your airspeed got too low, because for some reason QC or whatever passes for QC didn't realize they never modeled the needle on the airspeed indicator in the Shock Ultra. I still find my experience is constantly being disrupted by some flaw that is not in MSFS2020. Yesterday it was massive trees on final to a place that I can't understand why the AI thinks there is a dense forest around. Its corn fields. Edited February 26, 20251 yr by aniiran
