MSFT server issues statement - blue skies ahead!

Think like a business for a sec and not a simmer.

Large upfront investment in what eventually would be an over commitment of resources is not smart business in the long run.

Azure has tons of servers. I'm sure that even MSFS 2024 is a mere drop in the bucket relative to that. So they could have provisioned extra resources for the launch, then released them when they no longer needed them, the same way any other Azure customer would do. I fact, I'm sure they did exactly that. The servers wouldn't sit idle for long - at the rate Azure is growing, they'd soon be picked up by another customer.

It sounds to me more as if one particular service didn't scale well - so they couldn't simply spin up more instances, they had to solve the scaling problem instead.

You guys version must be stuck on FS 2023, I'm playing FS 2024 and I'm having a lot of fun. Sure some planes don't work right, don't fly those. As far as the other bugs go, yes night lighting is screw

That's all great but the sim is in beta stage. Default planes don't work as they should. Scenery bugs and glitches. (i.e. floating jetways) Planes dropping through the scenery. (Taxiing on the airport

Can you imagine saying that about any other product you buy? Sorry but the delusion is all yours.

I understand the point you're trying to make, but it just doesn't work here in my opinion.  We're not talking about a buying a bicycle.  Software this in depth and intricate...issues at the beginning were expected.

Its running great here on the West Coast, but I only fly late at night mainly.

This is pretty close to the sim I always dreamed of, just had a great flight on the Beaver and pulled off a last minute ILS lock due to weather.

Otherwise, it's a SUPER word not allowed load of fun, you're missing out. I am not a Koolaid drinker, the first 3 days I was like man this is terrible and I had to spit it out like vinegar. After the textures started loading correctly, I was like WOW --- EWWWW ----- AHHH, this is a lot better.

I think they are heading in the right direction, and I'm glad I didn't have to wait another 6 months to play it just so they can fix bugs I can avoid.

The only downside is I'm using Standard Edition through Gamepass, so going to have cough up the money to buy the Super Deluxe Extra Gimme-Those-Planes Version.

Yeah, the career mode is a lot of fun, actually.

The aerial resolution around Wales in England is just nuts now combined with the new buildings and trees.
It looks real for the most part.

And this is what they said is what happened; the authentication service on Asobo's end could not handled the load on the first day and so they created a queue to allow the service to restart and stay stable. It seems they also had some allocation issues, but I do not think any of the issues are capacity related. Apparently they are going to issue a written update today and it will be interesting to see what they say. They would do well to help people actually understand what is occurring.

I live thousands of miles away, so I can't speak for the reality, but it's absolutely gorgeous and I find myself flying in Wales more than the rest of the UK and Ireland. All of it looks much better than UK and Ireland in MSFS 2020.

I don't live there, but was going by the real flight video I've watched in that area. Pretty close, the trees aren't perfect, but otherwise the resolution is almost as good as the real videos.
