MSFS2024_AutoFPS for MSFS 2024

Are there now two separate and distinct apps using the same name?  This is significantly confusing.

Basically, since MSFS2020_autoFPS wasn't compatible with MSFS 2024 at the beginning, someone took an old version of autoFPS and modified it to work with MSFS 2024 and named it MSFS2024_autoFPS.

Technically, these are two different apps, but I'm not sure if the author of MSFS2024_autoFPS will continue developing it, since the author of the original app already has a beta version compatible with MSFS 2024 and works better than this version. In my opinion, it wouldn't make sense to develop a competing app, when your app is essentially the same as the competitor's with a few changes.

Uninstalled / installed, went through the 55/195 method, but it sill fails detecting FPS | TLOD | OLOD.

There are no apps using the same name.

There are actually 3 AutoFPS apps out there, all of which install to separate directories but each has a different starting name that IMO is reasonably intuitive as to what MSFS sim versions they are applicable to, namely:

  • MSFS2020_AutoFPS - my original app that works only with MSFS 2020.
  • MSFS2024_AutoFPS by kayJay_1c6b - kayJay_1c6b's app that works only with MSFS 2024.
  • MSFS_AutoFPS - my new app that works with both MSFS 2020 and 2024, hence the dropping of the sim version from the name.

Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

I have updated the app to version 1.0.2.0. This version adapts to the newest update of MSFS 2024.

Improvements:

- There is no longer need to set predefined TLOD and OLOD
- The issue with going to the menu / walkaround resseting the app's connection to the sim is resolved
- The issue with dissapearing window should be resolved

New functionalities:

- The app now detects (in vr optimized mode) category of your aircraft based on weight and adds some TLOD to smaller planes (you usually have better performance with them) and takes away some TLOD for heavier planes. So set your TLOD min and max somewhere in the middle and you will see how TLOD min and max change based on aircraft size next to ATLOD. Have a play with it and let me know what do you think.

I might consider changing my app's name in the future so it is less confusing for users.

Again, as ResetXPDR stated he is no longer interested in adding new functionalities to his app(s), he only wants to keep them functional as they are as the versions of sim change. I intend to add new functionalities to the app and in this version there is something I think significant. This is not a competition by any means as we (I and ResetXPDR) worked together to get our apps working so YOU can use them (whichever you like more) and the code is open source which means that anyone can grab it, do whatever they want with it and even sell. On other thread someone even thought that I stole the code. If you don't like my app just simply don't use it.

This is getting frustrating.

Srsly I can't wrap my head about folks who have two amazing apps for free and complain that theres two. You did a great job KayJay, and so did ResetXPDR. I am now enjoying 600 TLOD in cruise thanks to the both of you. Super cool you plan to develop the app further. Keep on keeping up, as the porters say in Death Stranding and dont mind the moaners 🙂

Do you have steam or Ms store version?

The app disconnect after 2 to 3 mins and no sim values is displayed at all, and everything is as default, any idea why it is not working in 2024, it is store version. I am using Kayjay one.

Thanks

I have the store version ( cdkeys store ).

I have uploaded next version of the app (1.0.2.1) that should address issues with connection for MS Store version of the sim.

Frame Gen is active - I see it in the FPS shown by RTSS which is double that shown by Dev Mode Display FPS.

But, MSFS2024_AutoFPS 1.0.2.0 shows Frame Gen inactive and displays the FPS as shown by Dev Mode.  AutoFPS works as it should but it responds to changes in FPS shown by Dev Mode.

And... everytime I start AutoFPS I have to enter all my desired settings because AutoFPS always starts with it's default values.  No Big Deal but annoying.

I am running on Steam - will the 1.02.1 version make a difference?
