Fake frames i can live with 1x as is, more is opening a can of worms. But it's inevitable. AI and marketing will drive us into that. Not that deceptive since we are all pretty much attuned to the reality behind it. Its an attention grabbing marketing statement, and only those with zero inquisitive instincts will accept it at face value without questioning the circumstances under which it was achievable and whether that will actually apply to them in their use case. I do wholly agree with what you're saying. It's twofold, consumers should be doing research to avoid deception but the whole while we should still call out when companies try to deceive people because a lot of people still buy 4080/4090s simply because they have the money and fell for the marketing when they realistically didn't need those cards.

Its possibly not deceptive at all, in that under one specific set of circumstances at one time, they maybe did manage to replicate 4090 performance statistics in some limited definition. Potentially misleading in the generality, definitely! Caveat Emptor Edited January 7, 20251 yr by kevinfirth Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
