In other words, one could look at the plane from say 50' away while in the air, hold a key down and operate mouse zoom and make just the external world be affected, zooming in or out. This was a really cool feature and it worked super well in the virtual cockpit view as well. Right now, because they're linked, it becomes challenging to get the external zoom value just right, yet see as much of the VC as one might desire. In a nutshell this approach was more flexible in dialing in external and internal zoom values because they were independent. I don't know why this changed but I miss it and would love to know if it's even possible to do now, to code for I mean. July 6, 2025Jul 6 It can be done today too if both the shift zoom type command and the zoom command itself are assigned to the same controller (such as the keyboard, mouse, hat switch, etc.). But since the keyboard and mouse are not the same controller, then doing it like in the old days is not possible. But that does not bother me, I just assign both types of zoom to the same controller, namely a CH quad. It has six axis levers. I use two of those levers like this: one lever to zoom everything. another lever to just zoom the scenery but not the cockpit. Which leaves me 4 more levers. Another lever raises and lowers the seat height, another lever translates the view horizontally. The other two levers pans the view up/down and right/left instead of translating the view up/down right/left. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. August 14, 2025Aug 14 Hi, A few Chaseplane questions that I could use a hand with... 1. Is there a way it can remember the last drone position? Every time I switch between the cockpit and the drone, it resets to the same position. 2. I'm using an Xbox controller for drone controls. I'm trying to use LT for descend and RT for ascend. The opposite happens in CP. Is there a way to reverse these? 3. I'd like to set my drone zoom level to a set value. I think the default in MSFS is 50% which gives quite a wide POV. I'd prefer to hard-set mine to 75% ish. Is that possible? As you can tell, I've been playing with the drone today. Many thanks, Mike Edited August 14, 2025Aug 14 by MikeV1
