No sea traffic after SU1 Update Beta 2?

I am running SU1 beta 2, and have tried live traffic at all settings. There are no ships, and as Tuskin stated if the LODS for ships are that low that you can't see them unless you're on top of them then that is about as useless as you can get. I have never used live weather, surely visible ship traffic isn't tied to having live weather enabled is it? That is beyond understanding, who decides these things?

I will turn live weather on along with live traffic and find out if ships show up. If they do, then Asobo really needs to fix that problem, for that makes no sense at all.

The traffic nameplate option in the Flight Interface settings menu will also display nameplates on live sea traffic, that's one way to check if it is working for you. Another way would be to use a third party program like littlenavmap that will show sea traffic.

Hi, again, I have sea traffic (well, a kind of, because it is static!), in Honk Kong, for example. But there are places without it. For instance, the harbour of Valencia. Not a single ship or boa

This afternoon I flew two flights in areas where ships absolutely should have been navigating the waters, and not a single ship was visible. I did turn on live weather as silly as that sounds, and it made no difference, which you would expect.

In 2024 ships seem to have been disabled, at least on my version of the beta. If they are supposed to be activated, then I am at a loss as to why they aren't visible, unless as Tuskin suggested you have to be sitting on top of them to see them, which is absurd.

Hope the problems preventing GAIST from working are resolved soon. It really does make a difference not having ships, tankers, ferries et all not working in the sim.

I enjoy seeing all of the GAIST ships and boats during my MSFS 2020 flights. One of the best addons available.

I think that if you disable air traffic because you are using another source (AIG, FSLTL, etc.), you also lose sea and airport vehicle traffic, as there are no separate sliders. Is that still the case in the Beta?

Online > Aircraft Traffic Type : Real-Time Online

Graphics > Air Traffic : Off

Graphics > Sea Traffic : High

(Flight Interface > Show Traffic Nameplates : On) (Optional to confirm Boats are there)

SU1 Beta 2, flight around KAST, 1500ft :

=> No MSFS AI Aircraft are flying, I still get my injected traffic

=> Boats are visible and from my testing, their drawing distance seems tied to OLOD (went up to 1000 and it seems to improve drawing distance...)

Hm? GAIST works in 2024

Wish I could say the same, not seeing any sea traffic at all.

What settings influence whether it is shown or not?

Seriously? Cause I see nothing at all and I've used this addon since its inception.

Could you describe how you're getting it to work?

Ken

Idk I’m seeing GAIST boats in the water. I don’t know what to say

I didn’t touch anything specifically for GAIST, it has just worked the moment I put it in the community folder

And this is 2024 you're talking about, not 2020, correct?

Yes 2024

Thanks for the info, I just tried the settings of YM1 above for 2024 ship traffic by MS/Asobo with no luck. I have no idea how GAIST is working for you, but consider yourself fortunate and enjoy. 🙂

Some ships off Honolulu (GAIST, not live sea traffic)

Here's some live traffic ships. The model verity sucks (or maybe the model matching is just bad)

Thanks for the shots. Enjoy!

I can't understand what is so difficult with the AIS data? You get boat name, type, dimensions, position, heading and speed. With this information model matching can't go wrong -> there is no model matching.
