Did they fix custom liveries / registrations?

Featured Replies

After installing SU1 Beta3, my custom RV14A livery appears to work..  No overwriting of the registration, inside or out, and ATC correctly identifies my callsign..

Is this a fluke, or have they fixed it?

  • My example actually shows a custom registration selected in the sim... there was no painted registration in this case. Sorry for the confusion! 🫢

  • But but but they need to improve the walking speed before they concentrate on actual bugs(!), begs the question what else are they wasting their time on whilst not fixing the obvious issues?  But

  • That explains why it works for you ... but not for anyone *not* on beta! ;)

Wonder if it corrects the blending of multiple liveries.  This livery, perfectly rendered in MSFS 2020, blends two liveries in MSFS 2024.  The wing and engine sections seen here are from a totally different livery that other than this rendering have no association with each other.  Strange to say the least.  Have seen similar with other liveries in MSFS 2024.

The respective dds files are in totally different sets of folders and subfolders.  Makes no sense.  Par for the course with 2024.

This is the actual livery in MSFS 2020.

Are you using ATC_ID enabled=0? I still get the white rectangle over the registration if I don't use the dot in identification.

That was not in this thread, so not previously seen! That was the reason for my (?).  So where in the number does the dot go?

Some do work and some dont for me. I can change the stock Cessna 172 for example but not a 2020 ported over 3rd party plane such as the FSW Beech Sierra.

I did not make a change... it just suddenly began to work.  The identification can be set to "_" or "C-BERT", it still works.

Hmm, dunno why it's not working in the WBSim C152 for me.

On the first field in the Identification menu.

Ok. I have tried everyplace I can imagine.  On the first field?  Not understanding "On".  On or In?  Preceding? Where?

atc_id = "N976UD" ; tail number
atc_id_enable = 1 ; enable tail number
atc_airline = "" ; airline name
atc_flight_number = "" ; flight number
atc_heavy = 0 ; heavy?
atc_parking_types = "RAMP" ; "ANY" / "RAMP" / "CARGO" / "MIL_CARGO" / "MIL_COMBAT" / "GATE" / "DOCK"
atc_parking_codes = "" ; Comma separated and may be as small as one character each
atc_id_color = "" ; color for the tail number : i.e. "#9333FF"
atc_id_font = "" ; font for the tail number

Hmm, looks like you didn't read my post on the other thread. As you posted there too I thought you had read it. I clearly say it's inside the sim. It's in the aircraft configuration menu in identification.
