For those on the beta and have flown the Carenado C185, how do I turn on the GNS 430.  All of the other avionics turn on but the GPS is dark.  Tried the volume knob but that does not work.

What happens if you start the 185 on the runway?  For me, it has the GNS430 lit up and working.

The 185 has caught me up in a fruitless task. You/I can't start a flight C&D. Not possible. Can't remove chocks etc. etc. I only managed a flight in it thanks to this thread. Start on the runway!

When it was first released it behaved itself. Then there was an update, only a little one but enough to spoil my day. Who are these Asobo people?

Ron, I have not used it since the latest update.  I was able to start from cold and dark before I learned  the start on runway tip.  It uses the default aircraft walk around feature, click on chocks, etc.  Not a fan of the awkward walk around system and like to have an operating GPS, so I will continue to start on the runway for now.

Like I said, it worked as it should (I don't care for the walk around thing either) I just that the bee is firmly ensconced in my bonnet.

Now it doesn't work as it should.

I think I'll go back to the non beta. Or take up jigsaw puzzles.

Just tried it, cold and dark, turned on the battery and avionics master and the GNS430 turned on immediately. No problem starting the engine also. I wonder why it doesn't work for you, I'm in the beta too.

I just tried from cold and dark and for me the GNS 430 still does not turn on after turning on the master avionics switch.

Could you remove the chocks etc? Because when I choose a parking spot and click Start Flight, I'm put straight into the cockpit and getting out to remove the bits and pieces simply just puts me out with no interaction with sais bits and pieces.

Tiring ennit?

Yes, i can remove the chocks. It puts me outside under the wing and I can remove everything walking around with the Xbox controller.

Hmm maybe a conflicting addon? I just tried @Ron Attwood and I was able to remove the engine covers etc and then start with the GPS working.

That's my guess too, they should try with an empty community folder.

Mmm, fortunately I don't have many ~24 add-ons so I'll have a little trawl.

Still refuses to play ball. Emptied the community completely, still the same. Disabled it in Addons Linker tools ran the sim, shut down, re-enabled it...Same.

I never liked the bloody thing anyway! 🤣
