So yesterday was "did we jump into 2024 too early" so today I present "Is it time to ditch 2020"  

Actually pretty good videos.  I have a feeling that as entrenched as I am with 2020 once PMDG and all my HW works with 2024 which I am hoping is the next 1-3 months I will probably start making the move...  Despite my vocal support of 2020 I have always said I thought 2024 would get it's legs under it much quicker than 2020 did.  I mean if all of my addons work, if performance is not sacrificed and if it has even incremental upgrades then no reason not to embrace where the lions share of the development will be heading.  Now with that said if it's less stable which some of the WASM issues with the 350 do have me watching the forums then I will happily revert to 2020 so it will reside on my HDD for some time after I move.  I mean I am yet to delete P3D "just in case" but I'm not a hoarder I swear... 

 Edit:  I also read Asobo is thinking about making the career missions stand alone again like 2020 which I would actually really enjoy.  

Also interesting to see PMDG 77 has working gear physics and animation in the 2nd video so it is not a sim issue it is an ini issue.

I am going to try that line in my meeting tomorrow when the line analysis paralysis comes up... 😂

Well, one thing that they could do in that first video is not plaster the same F-BZNE registration on all sorts of different aircraft types flying for different airlines. What's that all about?

Hehe, you are hands down one of the most detailed oriented people I've encountered!  Totally meant as a compliment as well.

Are you an analyst or engineer of some sort by trade?  You need to be in a detail oriented job 🙂

 

The thing I found interesting is that I work with a lot of folks out of London and I hear routers referred to as rooters all the time and always get a kick out of it but I haven't heard Beta pronounced "baita" over here as Beta le Be Ta which kind of makes sense.  No wonder English is such a hard language for people to learn LOL

 

The whole point of this while these videos aren't bad is anyone can find a video that basically says whatever message they want these days LOL.  These two just popped up on my phone feed 🤷‍♂️  Maybe a hint LOL

Nah! Not ready for me yet. Maybe it will never be.

To give you an example, I have about 40 enhanced airports for The Bahamas. That doesn't include all my Caribbean airports. Even some FL airports have not been updated.

There's so much that has to be updated and working for airliner flying, it's probably going to take years before I consider moving on.

For me FS2020 is the holy grail of sims.

So do you think that MS wanted 1 version of FS for gamers and one for folks like you all along?  I'm all about it.

They would be called MSFS Tube and MSFS Fun.

Totally respect that, I stayed with FS9 for years, skipped FSX and didn't even go to P3D until V2 LOL.  

I do question the airliner comment as that is what I do predominantly and more and more people seem to be saying even that is improved with SU1 and I see lots of people long hauling in 24 (although I personally just completed 11 hours in 2020 and absolutely loved it) but I'm interested what has to be updated and working? The big reason I would pivot is when the 777 is in '24. 

Fs2020 or FSOG is incredible.  A total revolutionary and literally game changing sim that single handedly changed the market space....   Just look at the #'s it produced and the hardware it has mainstreamed.  Brilliant, don't have a bad thing to say.

I honestly feel that they just wanted something to charge for. They could have easily improved 2020 or charged a small fee for a planner or terrain enhancements. They still have a long way to go. I have too many add-ons that are an example of what I had to pay for when they should have been part of the sim. Such as bridges..... etc.

Having said that, MSFS 2024 will be worth the upgrade price when it's ready.

Please don't put MSFS 2020 in the same sentence as FS9 or P3D. 😀

I agree that 2024 is being utilized by many for airliners, but I want to wait and see how many of my fav add-ons will be ready in the near future. Then I can try it again.

I"m not serious, just hoping for cheap attention.

I haven't made the switch yet to 2024. I most likely will once all of my addon aircraft are available. This is the first time since Flight Simulator 3.0 I haven't switched immediately. Have they fixed KDFW in FS2024? The rendition in 2020 is a mess with elevation issues.

Pretty much all 2020 scenery addons work in 24 - I've got a lot of Florida stuff.  Which ones are you wondering about?  I may already have it and coudo check.
