March 22, 20251 yr I've read thru all the stuff here and elsewhere about making 2024 VR run smoothly. I did have quite a bit of experience with VR in 2020 and other Steam games. At this time my Steam VR 2024 works very nicely at 40 FPS with good quality and no stutters. But... at times VR becomes quite annoying and sometimes impossible to deal with. The lost of mouse cursor actionability is annoying but easily fixed by dropping out of VR and back into it. But today when I returned to the VR session - I lost all ability to use the mouse cursor to control anything. And, all the controllers (Bravo throttle, CH Pedals, TM 320 flight stick) did not communicate with the sim. The plane continued normal flight but was far beyond my control. The AP and Alt Hold buttons indicated they were engaged but the plane assumed a slight nose down right bank attitude and nothing would pull it out of that attitude. Tried the CTRL+Tab to stop the VR. In the 2D session all was good. But upon returning to the VR session the plane continued it's descending banked attitude until the ground intervened. Another flight ended when the sim just froze in VR - the sounds were appropriate but the images did not change. This happened on autopilot, straight and level, and with no input for several minutes. Ending the VR session returned the sim to normal activity. Is this the normal/current state of VR in MSFS 2024? Are we to endure these frustrations for much longer? That's the question for the ages... 🤔 SU2 beta releasing soon should have (we hope!) some attention to VR in 2024... at this time it's playable but as you have noted, lots of frustrating bugs... i9 13900KF @ 5.5Ghz | MoBo MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi | Corsair Vengeance Black RGB RS 64gb DDR4 3200MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC 32GB | MP33 Pro 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD for OS | Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" 4TB SSD SATA2 | Samsung 990 PRO 2TB | Corsair RM1000X 2021 1300W 80 Plus Gold PSU | Antec Dark Fleet DF700 Flux Gaming Case | Win 11 home | Samsung 65" 4K TV | G512 Keyboard | Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse | WinCtrl URSA MINOR 32 Throttle Metal / 32 PAC Metal | WinCtrl Ursa Minor Sidestick |Velocity One Rudder | MiniCockpit FCU and EFIS | WinCtrl MCDU | Stream Deck XL | Tobii Eye Tracker | Pimax Crystal Light | Doug
April 29, 20251 yr I'm doing live streams almost daily since November 2024 without a single issue in VR. Just that known VR tool bar that have a walkaround and now its fixed in the beta. Controllers, joystick, throttle and rudder without any issue at all. April 29, 20251 yr VR in SU2 Beta is very much improved. It’s not perfect but the toolbar, EFB and mouse works. Plus, Dynamic Foveated Rendering yielded me 10-12 additional FPS. Hopefully, they keep working on it, such as being able to resize the EFB.

I have the issue of the toolbar and when I initially start VR, I am floating above my aircraft and have a difficult time getting into the cockpit. Also, the screen to reposition the pilot is difficult to make it go away after I am positioned.
May 7, 20251 yr If you want to use VR, you have to be an SU2 beta. A lot of the problems (but not all) are fixed in SU2. However, performance is still underwhelming. [email protected] ∣ Asus ROG Strix B650E-E ∣ 64Gb@6000MT ∣ NVidia 5090 FE
