Cool feature discovered ...

Yay!  You can have a back tail and a white tail without going back to swap your livery. Thanks Asobo!

I have seen this on other default aircraft as well.  How simple things like this got past QC amazes me.  Then again, when your customers are the QC department, this is what happens.

I have seen so many bugs and issues with this sim I have just about given up. A waste of nearly £200 for me.

I also used to buy between £100-200 per month on addons, but I just won't waste the money any more. I wonder how many other people feel the same.  The poor state of the sim will cause the whole sim ecosystem to perform badly at this rate.  I would love the A350, but I won't  pay that kind of money to throw it into this kind of sandbox. I doubt if they will ever manage to fix all the broken stuff.

Anyway, I am off to have a better experience by watching Snow White.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

If that is indeed the "cool feature", I noticed this on the stock 172, as well. Just with certain liveries, not all but, still, seems a little amateur.

Also, it floats along in the air and does not fall to Earth by gravity !

Wow, I spend £100 a year at most!!

I also used to spend like this on addons, but have stopped doing so for 2024. In my case though it's more to do with not feeling the need for them. 2024 for me is much more of a single purpose sim - all the pleasure is down really low and slow and mostly away from the big airports. I have bought stuff for 2024, but it's mostly small strips with just the occasional big airport. And most of the big airports have been updates/upgrades anyway.

Most of the supposed 2024 addons look like bad portovers anyway and are way overpriced.

Yes, plenty of annoying silliness in 2024 alongside the good stuff, but then I've still got a working 2020 setup here as well (and XP/AFS etc)

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I seldom look at the liveries of the aircraft I pick to fly in any sim 🙂

For addon aircraft I usually install only the default livery (Fenix, Inibuilds, PMDG,...).

Have you guys ever had a piece of software as complex as the MSFS 2024? Have you guys ever been part of a development team of such a complex piece of software? If you can answer both questions with yes, you would certainly stop yammering. Why not just enjoy what it is now and look forward to every future improvement?

BTW I keep enjoying the amazing A350 in MSFS 2024 even in VR!

This is absurd.  I also don't design cars but if I buy one and it breaks down every day I certainly have every right to complain...  So stop your yammering that unless you have been part of a Dev team or involved with such a complicated piece of software you shouldn't say anything.  There are enough BASIC issues that should have never seen the light of day after release the comments are warranted.

Oohh yes!! Ok, not software but development engineer for power plants (I'd say a power plant is 'a bit complex'). To be more precise, I have to do with gas turbines (among the largest in the world, approx. 7 metres in diameter and 20 metres long.). Basically the same as aircraft turbines - which are just considerably smaller. And now imagine I change the fuel flow. Then the speed also changes - logical, right? It's the same in a car (example from ‘everyday life’) when you step on the accelerator. But if you change NOTHING at all, but the colour of your car suddenly changes without any external influence, then I would call that ‘silly’ at the very least.

We are talking about an entertainment software with a retail price of less than 100 EUR/USD. Please don't compare it to professional products which cost tens of thousands and need to be 100% reliable. Why not just concentrate on a 95% complete and have fun with this highly entertaining flight simulator? And MSFS 2024 is getting better with each update...

200 Euro for me, but anyway, while there is a lot to like about MSFS2024, some of the basic issues are a bit absurd.

No doubt they will solve the vast majority of issues, but I am worried it will be 2028, and then we will start all over again with another new version, and the cycle starts over again.

Maybe it is just a thing with software development, and especially complex flight sims, that we never reach a state of maturity before a new version arrives, but to me it seems obvious Asobo struggle with QC on a project of this scale.

I feel your pain Rob 😕 but then, it's been like that since forever...

P3D had new versions, MSFS had it before, X-Plane has it too... IL-2 and DCS too although DCS is the "Queen of Portability" because it always brings all of your stuff to the new version without anyu mess ... I wish in that aspect all flight simulation platforms could be as easy to evolve through their various versions as DCS World is...

It's funny but I usually find that I am having the most enjoyment with a platform right as it's replaced.  Something about the maturity I suppose but I stayed on FS9 for years after FSX then stayed with each P3D version until well after the next was released, stayed with P3D overall for years after MSFS was released and think 2020 is at it's pinnacle right as 2024 was released...

Definitely seems to be a pattern for me LOL.
