April 3, 20251 yr Any way to adjust the TrackIR so that your view doesn't hit the floor every time you lean forward to see the gps? I've tried unchecking "True View" in the TIR software but that didnt seem to help this issue. Seems XP12 head tracking is all over the place and not sure what to do about it. April 8, 20251 yr I'd love to know as well. With XP and track IR there's like no center point....with the slightest movements my view just bounces all around. It's like my profiles won't work in XP. It's very annoying. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Yes use trakir with xcamera than you can set limits and have trakir in some views and not others, Used it for years. works fine.

Every time I use trackIR with X-Plane I feel like I must be drunk!!! Strange because it works very well in other sims. I've experimented with a few profiles and I can get it to be better, but yeah, it will still seemingly reposition my head to my lap in a frequent basis! 😆
April 8, 20251 yr So X camera can provide some sort of centered position and we can use Track IR to move about that position? I don't care about camera views... I just want to be able to move my head around. I looked at the x camera app and it appears to be more about camera views unless I missed something? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

So Ive tried it with xcamera (free version for now) and it fixes the TrackIR issue that causes your view to hit the floor just by gazing in a downward motion, which is what was driving me nuts. I dunno how or why it works but TrackIR seems to work as it should. *One thing to note is that you must turn the trackIR tracking feature OFF in the x-plane menu, and then make sure to turn it ON in the xcamera menu. it's free so you have nothing to lose by trying it. Trakir itself has a centering and a lock function which i have assigned to keys on my JS so dont know where you are getting this it falls to the floor stuff, Xcamera expands on that, it allows you to disable scroll view when using trakir, which is really useful, also allow you to set limits so your head doesnt crash through roof. But even so you still need to assign keys to the trakir centering and lock function. Xcamera also allow you to enable disable xplanes headshake in some views and not in others. That was just added. Also means you can set up a view on pilot and copilot sides and switch view. Probably most useful tool ever created for xplane.
April 8, 20251 yr I already have buttons assigned to pause, center etc. I wasn't the one saying it falls to the floor but it seems like XP doesn't really react to my profile. It's the same profile I've used for over a decade in FSX, P3D, DCS, MSFS. It works totally fine there. In XP, the centered location so easily wanders off center, even with the slightest movement. In those other sims it takes quite a bit more movement of my head position (not like turning my head but actually moving my chair sideways for example) to make the "center point" move. This is why Track IR allows for curves/profiles. But XP doesn't seem to respect those. I'm definitely not the only one with this issue according to this thread. Maybe I'll try an email to LR and see if I can explain it better maybe or even send a video. I think even XP11 had the same behavior. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Seriousy xcamera is so cheap for what it offers. Solve all your problems.
