Not the end of the world by any means but frustrating to get a forced update with 1.50 Gigs of updates which appeared to be FS_base updates and the Release Notes are still 1.3.8.2 I think it was and the only things listed are A310, A320 and PC-6 updates...

It would just be nice if they took the time to update the release notes when you click on "v" to display them in sim... 

So really no idea what was in the update which is frustrating.  

I think this is 3 updates now with the same release notes.  

Also going to post on the official forums, just venting here as I'm sure others are wondering what the update was as well.

(Possible) NOTAM

Took my sim ~15 minutes to load after the update so if it takes a while, let it sit and it should complete.  

Just a possible heads up if it looks like it has hung on the loading screen after the update

Just 830MB or so, for me (the actual download size, not disk space required), apart of the City Update 10, which is only several KB.

Hey Ed, hope you are well, so your mandatory update (not the city update 10) was only 800 megs?  Mine was 1.50 Gigs but it was a mandatory update when I launched, not the city update...

Even more reason I would like to know what the update entails.  My post is pending on the official forums.

Hi Paul, yes, the mandatory update was about 800 MB for me here, but remember, this is actual download size and you probable saw the required disk space, which is about twice the download size (after decompressing, etc.). So maybe we're talking about the same, but if you got 1.50 Gigs of actual download size, I don't know what to say...

To install the City Update, you should first "purchase" it in the marketplace, and then download it from there or, alternatively, from your Content Manager after that "purchase". It is only a few kB size.

 

 

Yep, thanks Ed, that's what I though.

It may have been disk space I saw but regardless of size when I checked the release notes they are still 1.38.2 and showed only 310,320 and PC6 updates and this was clearly FS_Base updates.

They've updated the PC-6? It's always been an exquisitely modelled, steaming pile of poo.

I installed the city update, and had to uninstall it, it ruined KDEN.

It was updated a few releases ago along with the 310 and 320.  Those are the last release notes they updated...

Ahhh...gotcha.

Not only did I get a mandatory update for 2020, but a 4.5 GB Oceania update and the USA POI update.

In msfs 2024 all it said was that WU 10 was available. Nothing in my library or marketplace.

I'll check after 2020 is updated. It should be much faster than 2020.

BTW, I checked out Hawaii in 2024 and I was not impressed. My 2020 with the freeware city looks amazing.

When I checked out KDFW in 2024, I saw blurry ground textures in spots outside the airport.

I'll check again, but I'm sticking with 2020 because 2024 is not there yet. But it has improved since initial release.

Did the city update install a new Asobo KDEN or just break the existing one? 

I tend to disable a lot of the Asobo handcrafted airports as I usually end up with add-ons anyway but that's irrelevant to your issue...  Did uninstalling the City update fix it?

The mandatory update on my PC stated 1.50GB, but the download was only 766.7MB.

The download was 776.7Mb, but the decompressed files took up 1.50Gb of your drive space - just like with every single update we have gotten over the years.
