Best AI traffic for 2024

Featured Replies

I use PSXT with AIG in MSFS 2020 and 2024 and it's awesome.

I've got FSTraffic models as well as FSLTL but they both bring nothing to the table that AIG doesn't already have. The only performance gains you "may" get from using either of those products are from having less traffic being injected into your sim. If that makes it better for you, then that's up to you.

Yes, THE drawback of AIG using AIGTC is that MSFS controls AI traffic, which we all know is a mess

All of the other traffic injection systems are like that as well except PSXT.

No, FSHud and BATC control the traffic also themselves...

PSXT does  not control anything - it's a projection of real life operations, totally independent from the user-plane and it's ATC environment.

I'm very curious what SI would come up with AI Traffic. I'm very impressed with their ATC, which I use in conjunction with PSXT (for now)*

* - yes, I do own and I have used both BATC and FSHud, as well as RC and PROATC in the past

That they do, but they still don't do a very good job of it and it's still a mess.

But it's pretty much clear that in simulating real and historic AI traffic movements PSXT will always be ahead of others.

Unless you fly in a region where you get plenty of AI traffic using AIG and little to no coverage by PSXT. Or does it provide full worldwide coverage?

No, it does not. But Europe, North America and NZAU has very good coverage. I fly 100% between large payware airports and I always look for PSXT quality factor before buying an airport scenery. I own ~80 sceneries and I have coverage issues with 3 of them (ESSA, KIAH and KDTW)

There are plenty of areas that don't have coverage worldwide either due to security or public data issues or even as simple as terrain coverage. Much of China, Russia, N. Korea and Africa, but that should almost to be expected. Also not every airport has ground transponder ops, so PSXT then reverts similarly to how the other injectors do with parking locations.

PSXT isn't perfect but it blows everything else out of the water. When operating in those areas with lesser coverage, it only makes me want to get back to where there is good coverage and not have to watch the mess of traffic that to those who don't use PSXT think is normal. 😉

Here's a link to RealTraffic's coverage tool. It gives people an idea of how good the coverage is.

And did they finally get the warping issue under control or are the planes still stuttering along the taxiways? And how do they react to the player?

Pretty vague description of what you have actually installed. Did you also install and run AIGTC? Without that you won't get any traffic.

Thanks i see now that the TC works as with MSFS2020.

I am all good.

Is default disabled like with MSFS2020?

I forget, it's been quite a while since I installed it for 2024. But you do want the Sim's AI set to off I'm fairly sure as it is all being injected through AIGTC.

Sometimes they aren't as smooth as you want them to be it all depends on coverage at the airport. As for reacting to the player, they are a direct injection from whatever surveillance is used to pick their data feed. We are not there as far as they are concerned. They will however disappear if you get in the way.

So I slightly wonder. AI traffic that does not interact with the player, stuttering around, doesnt talk to any ATC and is missing in several parts of the world is considered being better than any other AI traffic addon?

Could it be that you PSXT guys simply (over)weigh the few advantages of PSXT more than others? Personally, I prefer slightly less «realistic» behaviour but getting a credible ecosystem including reaction to the player, ATC communication and smooth movement over the stuff PSXT would offer.

I have found that FSHud + AIG work pretty well, it is probably the best option for ATC and AI traffic currently (MSFS2024).
