Use --allow_reshade to bypass, you have been warned! Not strange. Laminar put it in there to warn people about reshade. If you use reshade it changes and laminar will simply ignore any help requests.
June 12, 2025Jun 12 Oh ok, so I guess that message is in all pilots' LOG. Confirm? [Pc Intel i3-4160 3,6 GHz, 8 GB di RAM, GeForce RTX-3060 12 GB, Win10 Home 64 bit]

Just like for a time they started multiple log.txt so people who restarted xplane had a previous copy of some bug, error, But now they are back to one log.txt again. June 12, 2025Jun 12 X-Plane 12.2 beta7 I had already seen that warning in all the LOGs of the previous betas and I always ignored it because it was meaningless, I have never used reshade in Xp12, so there is no reason to worry. 😉 However I am curious to understand why Xp12 writes that warning in my LOGs. It almost seems that Xp12 "perceives" the presence of reshade even if the utility is installed in another simulator (Xp11) totally separate from Xp12. Maybe it could have something to do with Vulkan? 🤔 When I installed Reshade in Xp11.55 I had to choose the option DirectX - OpenGL - or Vulkan. Of course I chose Vulkan because the latest version of XP11 was already Vulkan. Xp12 is Vulkan too. So the only thing Reshade has in common with Xp11 and 12... is Vulkan. Who knows, maybe this is what causes the false perception of XP12 having Reshade installed inside. It's just a hypothesis. June 12, 2025Jun 12 Hi, I use reshade and this is what is in my log file. In your log file, Reshade is disabled. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Application was launched with the following command line options... '--allow_reshade' ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0:00:00.000 I/GFX/VK: Vulkan Layers: VK_LAYER_AMD_switchable_graphics (1), VK_LAYER_NV_optimus (1), VK_LAYER_reshade (1) 0:00:00.000 I/GFX/VK: Force enabled ReShade: This layer is known to cause issues such as crashes with X-Plane, but you've enabled it via --allow_reshade. Expect instability and crashes! 0:00:00.000 I/GFX/VK: NOTE: I haven't had any instability/crashes using reshade. I'm wondering if this much larger set of files, which covers Australia and Oceania, includes the New Zealand lights (possibly in the Oceania file)? UPDATE: Looking at the respective Earth nav data folders, it appears that Oceania in the latest pack does include NZ. Edited June 13, 2025Jun 13 by Brian Mackie

Hi, Those areas are covered by Extended Night Lighting, not sure if they are newer or provide additional lighting. Ok Sir, but why does Xp12 LOG warn me that I have Reshade disabled? If all pilots have this warning in their respective LOGs, then I know it's normal. But apparently other pilots don't have it. Only I have that warning, and I don't understand why Xp12 shows it to me in the LOG if I've never used Reshade in Xp12. It's curious. 🤷♂️ [Pc Intel i3-4160 3,6 GHz, 8 GB di RAM, GeForce RTX-3060 12 GB, Win10 Home 64 bit]

Everyone (that is up to date with beta updates) has these entries in their log file, here is my server computer that has never run reshade or had it installed. 0:00:00.000 I/GFX/VK: Vulkan Layers: VK_LAYER_NV_optimus (1), VK_LAYER_NV_present (1), VK_LAYER_OBS_HOOK (1), VK_LAYER_reshade (1) 0:00:00.000 I/GFX/VK: Disabled ReShade : This layer is known to cause issues such as crashes with X-Plane. June 13, 2025Jun 13 NOT everyone who runs the 12.2.0betas have "Reshade" in their logs. I'm going out on a limb and guess that those of you who have never installed Reshade directly have this in your log due to the fact you've installed the Nvidia GeForce Experience application when you downloaded your drivers (instead of manually downloading the driver). Those of us who have never installed that program, and those with AMD GPUs will NOT have Reshade "automatically" in their logs. The old GeForce Experience app installed the Reshade underpinnings, to provide the "filters" many seem to love. It's not been proven to me whether the newer Nvidia Application still installs Reshade or not, but from what I've heard, it does not.
