Hello,

I joined the Sim Update 16 beta and it seems that the Map Enhancement mod does not work with it.

I can Start the mod as usual but when i go to start a flight , the default Bing maps only show. Also , within a few minutes a CTD with a 000000005 error .

Left the beta and everything back to normal , no crashes and Map Enhancement works perfect.

 

Wondering if anybody who is in the beta is experiencing the same issues.

Reading the other day about SU16 I understood it'll use the same Maps of MSFS24, so maybe the Map Enhancement Mod will not be further necessary. Why don't you try without the Map Enhancement Mod and check if the terrain images (textures, roads, vectors, etc.) are now crispier or in general better than before?.

 I tried it without the Map mod and no change . Still getting FS9 style generic  textures in same areas. The northern part of Canada is still bad. And no high LOD or anything.  Flying in some areas without the Map mod just looks horrible. and the high LOD just looks amazing.

Maybe it has not been implemented in the beta yet? ( the 2024 maps?)

Looks like many comments on Flightsim.to with the same issue. Hopefully an update can come before SU16 goes live. 

I think you're in a bit of a hurry. There will definitely be an update on both sides. Anyway, the Google Map Enhancement Pro version (Bing Latest) gives a truly incredible result, even if everything is not perfect. FS2020 with Fenix Google Map and REX Atmos gives me immense satisfaction. It exceeds my expectations. I did a test yesterday for a flight with FS2024 from Düsseldorf. I ended the flight after half an hour. The overall rendering and the feeling were horrible.

Which part of the fact that this thread is about MSFS2020 SU16 beta was unclear to you?

The latest update of Map Enhancement removes the high LOD setting as it’s apparently no longer compatible with SU16. How devastating, the high LOD feature is incredible. Can anyone comment if the maps actually  look better quality in SU16 Beta in general compared to the previous?

I'm not using the beta so won't let the mod update and remove this feature as that would be lose /lose for me. Just ran a flight Jamaica eastwards and high lod is still stunning, Kingston looked incredible (from cruise).
