  1. Just wondering if anybody is having issues with the MSFS Map Enhancement Tool with this update It seems like in areas where Photogrammetry and satellite textures meet ( in an around 10NM radius around) , textures do not load properly. Border between PG and ME textures. When i turn PG off, everything works fine.
  2. 2024 does look tempting however my 2020 is just running at the sweet spot right now. It is nice to be able to crank up the Texture LOD to values like 520 with little or no performance loss. Any low altitude stuttering can be mitigated by using Dynamic LOD or AutoFPS ( i set my TextureLOD to 300 below 2000 feet to avoid stutters on landing) . Since we cannot use anymore 512 HD textures via the Map Enhancement tool , the only way to have the textures to look really good is to crank up Texture LOD to 500 or higher. No performance issues with FG , i9 13390k and 4090. Upgraded to 64GB since with those high LOD settings can eat up 32GB easily. Not being able to use the Nvidia filters is still a no-go for me. Hopefully that functionality is coming soon. With the Nvidia Filters and REX Atmos settings , i can get the sim looking close to 2024. The trees in 2024 look really good. In 2020 , trees look like P3d or FSX.
  3. Just for anybody using the Map Enhancement mod , the developer just pushed and update that fixed the Bing new map draw distance issue Just tested it out and working fine on my end. 🙂
  4. I just tried the A320 sounds and the wind noise is much more realistic now. Does not sound like there is a huge blower fan in the cabin. Engine sounds are great also.
  5. I still use Map Enhancement where the new Bing Map does eliminate " offline textures" in certain areas. It is still needed in Canada( especially in mountainous areas) ( Europe and US are generally ok) Plus i use other maps like Mapbox in northern Canada where there is little or no Bing coverage. I was on the SU16 beta and noticed a difference between the standard Bing and Map Enhancement New Bing. Still prefer the Map Enhancement. But to each their own
  6. I used Atmos in the beta and seemed to work fine
  7. I can see that the terrain mesh is way better than SU15 Mountains are a beauty to fly around . No need to addon mesh which was causing issues for me pre SU16 Its just we cannot use the Map Enhancement High LOD anymore , however for me , i run a 4k monitor and use the Nvidia Sharpening Filter and it less noticeable . Also , confirmed for anybody having issues with Bing Map LOD draw distance , an update is coming soon( as per the developer )
  8. I just installed the update Anybody experiencing the wind noise too loud in the cabin ? seemed better the initial version.
  9. I have updated my bug report with additional screenshots with corresponding lat/long and screenshots. I have tested this all in SU15 and SU16 beta and it is worldwide . 8.2.11 and SU15 works fine in all areas.
  10. I am working on it at the moment. The Bing works , but tiles do not load properly. Had me try disabling the cache in the app , but no change. Bug: Tile Loading issue in lates version 8.3.0.0 · Issue #872 · derekhe/msfs2020-map-enhancement There are a few people having the same issues
  11. That sounds good! After you download and install this version u may see something like this https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/676075-msfs-2020-2024-dropping-high-res-textures-good-or-bad/ Do not restart the app to update. Just go about and use the current version.
  12. If u go onto the github page there are previous versions that u can download I dont have access to my PC at the moment Try this one https://github.com/derekhe/msfs2020-map-enhancement/releases/tag/8.2.11 If u could download one of them and test with New Bing Maps without any high LOD enabled is the texture loading issue still occuring? (Just want to add to my existing bug report) On SU15 not the beta Thanks
  13. I did report an issue in the last version (8.0.3) that ground textures do not load properly in the distance ( this is with High LOD turned off). This only affects Bing New maps. And i tested it with both 15 and 16 and the problem affects both versions https://github.com/derekhe/msfs2020-map-enhancement/issues/863#issuecomment-3121956240 I tried some other maps such as Mapbox and it seems to work fine
  14. I would say it looks a bit better than default. Terrain mapping especially in mountainous areas is greatly improved
  15. At first i was disappointed with the High LOD would not work However , the increased DEM with the 2020 maps make up for it. On my system ( beefy 4k) my terrain LOD looks better than SU15 ( that is at default) . The mountain terrain is way more defined ( like a super mesh was applied to it). Flying in the Alps at 30,000 feet is amazing In a nutshell, the texture resolution is somewhere between default SU15 and Map Enhancement High LOD. I still use Map Enhancement ( abet without the High LOD) , because i feel in certain areas ( western Canada especially) . I do have to increase Terrain LOD in the settings though , plus use Image Sharpening in the NVidia control panel ( i use 0.45) which is a sweet spot. night lighting is much improved also.
  16. There are areas ( especially in Canada which has patches of ugly FS8 looking textures especially on mountains. The New Bing for the most part eliminates this issues. Plus you can use other map providers in areas where there is no Bing coverage. Like most of Alaska and Northern Canada.
  17. Maybe the MSFS2024 map that SU16 is getting is already at higher resolution. I noticed that a bit when testing
  18. Unfortunately this " update" seems to have messed up the Map Enhancement tool that 512 High LOD textures do not work anymore ( confirmed by the developer). Maybe Asobo caught on to this and decided to drop the hammer down 😞 Maybe that was the cause of all the server issues the pop up from time to time . the extra LOD textures overloading their servers
  19. MSFS Map Enhancement will solve the problem if you purchase the paid version. Use MAPBOX as your map source and enjoy a nice landscape I don't know about MS20204 but 2020 has lots of areas with FS8 looking textures 😞
  20. Just installed the update and seems to be working good. Is anybody using the Boris Soundpack having issues with engine start spool up? There is no sound coming from the engines until like 40% N1 ( worked fine before) Maybe the soundpack needs an update ...
  21. Looks like many comments on Flightsim.to with the same issue. Hopefully an update can come before SU16 goes live.
  22. I tried it without the Map mod and no change . Still getting FS9 style generic textures in same areas. The northern part of Canada is still bad. And no high LOD or anything. Flying in some areas without the Map mod just looks horrible. and the high LOD just looks amazing. Maybe it has not been implemented in the beta yet? ( the 2024 maps?)
  23. Hello, I joined the Sim Update 16 beta and it seems that the Map Enhancement mod does not work with it. I can Start the mod as usual but when i go to start a flight , the default Bing maps only show. Also , within a few minutes a CTD with a 000000005 error . Left the beta and everything back to normal , no crashes and Map Enhancement works perfect. Wondering if anybody who is in the beta is experiencing the same issues. Thank you
  24. Give the Map Enhancement tool a try and select MAPBOX as the map. You will have to have a pro version though. Pretty much the entire north of Canada and Alaska is covered.
