MSFS 2020 SU16 beta and FSUIPC

Featured Replies

I just upgraded to the beta version of MSFS 2020 and completed my usual flight with A Pilots Life V2.

On landing at Madeira I notice nothing at all has been tracked, and FSUIPC is not running.

I reinstalled FSUIPC v7 and click on their special icon to start MSFS 2020.  I'm assuming this is to fire up FSUIPC along with the simulator, and still nothing.  No FSUIPC, no a pilot's life connection.

Is this not compatible with the new beta or has something gone wrong my end?

TIA!

Not much help to you but Im a heavy fsuipc user, and won't touch the 'downgrade 2020 to be like 2024" beta. Have you tried starting fsuipc independent after msfs or letting it auto load with msfs?

I always fly with FSUIPC and APL v2 running using 2020 so this is concerning.  I do know that FSUIPC just had a small update a little while ago.  Maybe check there first.

For some reason I just have to start it manually and it's working.

Post problem on the fsuipc forum you will get an immediate answer.

FSUIPC7 will start automatically with the sim if you have an entry for FSUIPC7 in the sim's EXE.XML file, so I would check that.

In my case the FSUIPC update deleted the bat file I used for starting FS, and had to rebuild it

When you install FSUIPC7, the installer gives you an option to either use a bat file or an entry into the exe.xml file to start FSUIPC7. I don't recall which of those options is the 'default' selection.

As indicated, you should use the FSUIPC forums for all issues / questions regarding FSUIPC: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/183-fsuipc7-msfs/

By default, the FSUIPC installer adds an entry to the EXE.xml file to get MSFS to auto-start FSUIPC. The icons installed by the FSUIPC installer only display a splash screen and then start MSFS, and installing FSUIPC does/should not remove any icon installed by MSFS (unless it possibly has the same name as the one FSUIPC creates).

If there are issues with MSFS not auto-starting FSUIPC, this usually due to an incorrect EXE.xml (some other add-ons can corrupt this file), or another add-on started before the FSUIPC entry blocking/stopping from FSUIPC being started. If that is the case, you can try re-ordering the entries in your EXE.xml and place the FSUIPC one first.
Note also, if you are using a licensed version of FSUIPC, you can use FSUIPC to start other add-ons via the functionality provided (see the documentation).

For further information on auto-start issues, see the following FAQ entry: https://forum.simflight.com/topic/95918-msfs-fsuipc7-auto-start-with-msfs20202024/
