Eliminating stuttering on fs2024

Featured Replies

I do not know if you have posted this tip but for those who have not tested it, it has helped me completely.
Following the tip of this video I managed to eliminate stuttering completely and now it is running smooth equal to fs2020.
Simply by disabling HPET (High precision event timer) in the windows device manager and then system devices.
note: the video is in portuguese.

Interessante cara! Tenho de dar uma chance para esse tweak 🙂

( Portuga trying to speak like a Brazilian 🙂), basically saying I've got to give that a try. Just don't know how it can impact other aspects of my Win 11 ?

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Try it if you wish, but it looks like this may have the potential to cause more problems than it solves.

Luckily, I have never had stuttering in 2024. But I wouldn't try this if I did.

So far I have not noticed anything wrong with the entire system, and I tried it because it is very simple, just click and disable.
I had stuttering during the landings and after that it is smooth.

Thanks for posting it's worth a try.  I believe ever since VRAM was addressed to try to reduce VRAM load I've noticed VRAM in use now has dropped by around 25% from a few months ago, and that is matched in the opposite direction with about 25% more system RAM.  I notice more subtle micro-stuttering than I ever had prior to this VRAM 'optimization' or whatever we want to call it.  Kind of sad for those with 36Gb of VRAM it's really no longer needed, at all.  Even over demanding Germany in the Fenix 320 VRAM hit 13.7Gb tops and the most I've seen now since this change is right at 14.3Gb in use no matter where and in whatever plane.

In one test flight with this enabled it appears to be a net loser in terms of frame time variance.  Panning seemed a little worse.   This was the capture of the first 10min of this flight from ESSA to EPGD in the IFly MAX 8:

To contrast this is from a diff flight w/o this hack and this is typical for me.  Because of how demanding the scenario was I dropped frame lock to 45 but that isn't relevant for this discussion:

It's probably system specific to some extent.  I guess it may help some but not others and as has been said, it's easy enough to switch on and off.

My system seems as smooth as it's ever been ATM (famous last words) with the new Nvidia driver, DLSS DAA with 2X native framegen and internal autofps thingy set to 55. I'm getting my cappped 60 FPS 99% of the time. So I'm not planning to try this mod as things stand.

How easy to turn it back actually? It's ok if I need just to enable it back. But I'm afraid what if that line disappears from device manager after you disable it?

No worries, it won't it will just have an indicator that it's in a disabled state.

More rubbish.

I think you're right. It's 2 years old placebo and only now it has reached Brazil.
