It flies beautifully and is pretty challenging to land, but I'm getting used to it every time I fire her up. This was a wise purchase for 2024 in my opinion. Really beautiful cockpit and exterior. I notice that helicopters don't employ "auto trim" like the planes do. Is that correct and is there a setting to toggle it on? Thx! I am going to get it too... Some helis, regarding autotrim, may offer some kind of SAS... There's a video on YT that goes into great detail. Thank you so much for posting this! Lately i've been tempted to buy a collective and none of my searches online had found this one before. Seems like great quality at a reasonable price.

Not exactly nice treatment of your paying customers, but I guess if MS comes knocking, you back up your Brinks truck for a trip to the bank. 🙂 What's a good helicopter in 2024? For MSFS, I can’t get enough of the Taogs OH-6/H500. no autopilot, but it trims out nicely for XC flights. UH-1 is very good, also, tho not Native 2024 like the OH-6 is. I have the HPG 145, too, but basically never fly it. Too automated by far - I always feel like I’m a passenger on a tour bus 😒 so far, my ultimate Happy Place for helo flying is the DCS Mi-24 or Mi-8. and I’m not talking about combat AT ALL. I’m talking strictly rotary wing flight-seeing or logistics work. They are both big brutes that can be made to dance like ballerinas. But if you don’t fly them right, they break in all the right ways.👍 Nothing in any other sim comes close to the satisfaction they deliver, IMHO.

So far, very happy with what I see, but just got it so only a couple of test flights. Miltech MH60 looks good if looking for a more advanced Helicopter. I flew rotary for 17 years starting in the later 1970s till mid 1990s and in the summer of 1980 spent a few hundred hours on the C. Later on I got my hands on a D and what a cool rocket ship. Watching the video (the C) it seems they got the engine start sequence right on the gauges which was nice to see. I'd like to see how it does an auto. I've got an HPG product and I love the modern day things included like an autopilot. Another major rotary developer took offence when I asked about how realistic the start up procedure is on his creations so I declined to purchase his products. usually I am not a fan of helicopters in flight sims. The Hughes (now MD) 500 were fun to fly. My favourite real world machine I got to spend a year on is the Gazelle. I will probably buy the Toag C.

Will try that tonight. I bought a Yoke so the stick gets little use. May as well set it up for Helios. Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.
August 20, 2025Aug 20 Do the HPG helos still have the bug in 2024 where if you pause the game (or go to the menu) while in flight they go out of control? August 20, 2025Aug 20 Is there a quick start for helicopters in MSFS 2024? The 500c stopped and I've tried everything to start it. CTRL + E does nothing. I've tried Alt+B then CTRL+E and cannot get it started. Is there a setting in the sim that when toggled starts all planes and helicopters rather that a cold and dark setting? I've tried Google searches and YouTube searches and can't find my answer. I just like hopping in and flying. Not interested in going through a long checklist. Edited August 20, 2025Aug 20 by spilok
August 20, 2025Aug 20 I guess the only way on custom aircraft with complex systems modelling may be restarting the flight at a runway OR helipad. No… at least not in the H145 I have. It has another issue where increasing altitude or speed in autopilot mode can cause an over-torque of the engines and a crash. But as long as you establish your desired altitude and speed ahead of time or increase it very slowly, it’s fine.
