This was my conclusion also having tested this this since SU3 was released. I was expecting a noticeable difference in favour of downloaded aircraft, but I've decided to stick with streamed.

Exactly my experience too. I now use Streamed only.

Just wondering : the guy uses a SSD drive. Would Streamed still be faster when using a fast M2 drive ?

This will surely depend upon the speed of the download servers?  I have 500 Mbit up and 500 down but very seldom see speeds greater than 100 Mbit. I use 990 m.2  drives and have yet to try downloading rather than streamed.

Very Best Wishes,

I have enough space (fast 4TB M.2) that's why I downloaded all (397 GB). The sim runs very smooth but I cannot say that there is a difference to the streamed content. It was smooth before too.

Does it take longer to load after you downloaded all that data? One of the things I really like about 2024 is how fast it loads.

I wonder how updates to downloaded content is handled. E.g. will it let you update when it suits you, or will you be forced to wait during load?

It's like @SeedyL said the other day, downloading will mostly benefit users who don't have strong internet connections. I only downloaded a couple of planes I use a lot just in case. I'm very happy with how fast 2024 loads on start up so I'm not going to download a bunch of stuff and bog it down.

From what I see (in my case), having downloaded everything on my PC, I would expect to see a bigger difference in loading times due to the fact that the files are already downloaded. Well, not quite, I see the download speed window is still active and jumping up/down, but what is downloading, I don't know. And when the bar is showing red sometimes, there are some intermittent microstutters regardless of the internet speed. For sure, these microstutters are less pronounced, but something is still going on.
Granted, not as bad as having melted buildings, I still see from time to time certain aspects of scenery popping up, not as bad as before (there is an improvement for sure), so IMHO they did some server optimization, and not so sure that downloading all the content is the solution, for now.
If we had a complete software download on our PC, no interaction with their servers, we would be able to see the real difference between the SSD M.2 SATA and  M.2 NVM.

Yes, but still shorter than with 2020 (with approx. same amount of add-ons)
