Yup!

We all know how to find this stuff on the dedicated YouTube site if we want too.

Don't know why this forum is littered with this stuff that we have to scroll through.

I don't recommend anyone click on the stuff to give someone revenue from clicks.

By the way... The Title is Extremely misleading or I wouldn't have clicked on it!

You should apply for a Moderator job on this forum, you seem to want to be one. 😀

Why does everything have to turn into a"""💩show""" with you guys?

  • A bajillion years ago, I saw a flightsim being run by a pretty-much house sized government supercomputer. The graphics were black-and-white and were sub-FSX; but at the time I was sure such fidelity f

  • That video is great. Nice to see someone who is enthusiastic about aviation able to get some time in a sim.

@HiFlyer  Don't worry about it mate.  Too many snarky grouches around here these days.

They need to take a look at themselves with their rudeness and aggression.  There really is minimal inconvenience for anyone here.

In the utmost botlike Reddit engagement farming manner....🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

And so? You have an issue with modern media? To the point you habitually disrupt threads to remind us all of the fact? You could have simply moved on, if you found the video unappealing, but instead.......

Meanwhile, I found the posters experience interesting, and thought others might find it so as well, though in posting, I was very aware that some yelling at clouds is part of the culture. In other places I posted this, nothing similar occurred, which is just another reminder of the known idiosyncrasies of the forum. (shrugs again)

Those interested in the video, welcome!

Others.... Have a great day!

That's cause' there's not a thing wrong with the title.

There is: A simulator is not a real 737.

Asterisks merely emphasize. They don't imply "this word doesn't mean what it usually does", the way quotes can.

If the title had read 'Flew a "REAL" B737', it would be more obvious that the 737 maybe isn't really real.

A fact he mentioned in the video, and probably why the word *real* in the title was enclosed with asterisks......

Well, that would imply some relation at least between the two.  What he did is like me pointing to a rock on the side of the road and saying "look, a *real* house"!  It's irrational, because the rock isn't any kind of house, there isn't a relationship.

In this video, you have a video game, and a very expensive box that can be used to prepare people to fly an airplane.  Neither thing is any kind of airplane.

That's an important distinction if anyone thinks they can do what he apparently thought he could do.  Which kind of explains why he crashed it...

But, but, but everyone should automatically understand it was gonna just turn out to be a weird clickbait video inside.

Well....because asterisks. The asterisks!!!

Who doesn't understand the new modern internet lingo use of asterisks these days to hint at " gotcha obviously not a real 737 silly goose"?

It's the latest social media plugging communications trend!

Come on people get with the times!

The asterisks!!!

It's out of order the way they pile on, and they need to take a look at themselves.
It's a discussion forum and a place to share things.
If they don't like the look of it, all they have to do is pop straight back out of the thread.
Too many backseat moderators.  I notice not many donors amongst them though, even though they seem to like to control the narrative.

Some people are just so miserable. Isn’t it tiring to be so extremely negative and toxic? The dude had a great time in the video, and the landing wasn’t bad at all. Let the dude enjoy it.

About 20 years ago a guy I used to fly with was about to upgrade from the 737-200 (no fms) to the NG (700) and like me he came from the dinosaur background starting flying for a living in the 1970s. A few years earlier we'd both been flying for a local regional and he had a chance to move up to this un-named airline, now these days a major carrier. I'd bailed from the regional several years before and got into forest fire (wildfire) suppression....a govt job with a govt pension. Back then the public really knew little about aviation and forest fire suppression and my job impressed my neighbors about as much as if I'd been driving a truck for the local sanitation company, lol.

Anyway he was just a little concerned about moving into the NG technology and had a decent computer flight sim setup at the time so I introduced him to the PMDG 737-700.  In the six months he used it before starting training he found it helpful. Down the road a couple years he got me into his company level D sim a couple of times and I was amazed just how much was familiar from using the PMDG product.

Any simmer would have a great time getting into a Level D sim for a couple of sessions if it fits the budget. You'd make a memory that would last for a lifetime. You would probably find that the visuals in MSFS are much better than the $10-15million level D sim.

I've sometimes thought MSFS might someday find itself used, at least as a graphical driver for the expensive sims.....

Meanwhile, except for real and Ex-pilots we're all chasing a dream. Mine started in New York watching the jets leaving their trails overhead, on the way to JFK and wherever, and wondering who the pilots were, what their lives were like, how it felt to be up there.

MSFS is the closest most of will ever get, with the vast majority having little hope of even some time in a commercial sim.

It was nice seeing this guy get his chance and have an experience we probably all would like to try. (I'm pretty sure I would crash)

Yes, that was the first thing that surprised me, and one reason why the video is relevant and worth the comparison.
I was quite surprised by the rudimentary graphics.  No jet2 737's at Terminal 1!

On the other matter, this thread may or may not be moved eventually, but if so, what happens to all of the other threads that contain YouTube videos?
It is a valid point for discussion.

I am noticing threads quite often being posted showing a certain Island Sim Pilot, almost like spam (although not by the guy himself I should add).
But should they be moved also?
