September 15, 2025Sep 15 Should I uninstall P3D from my current system beforehand? Thanks' Mike CyberPowerPC - Gamer Supreme Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D - 64GB Memory - AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB - 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
September 15, 2025Sep 15 You deactivate your P3D Before you uninstall or you will have problem when you try to install on a different PC. Same if you have PMDG products. Raymond Fry.

September 16, 2025Sep 16 Interesting topic. I recently set up a new PC with P3D5.3 as a second sim machine. I neither deactivated P3D on my existing PC, nor did I deactivate any of my PMDG aircraft before installing those into that new sim instance on my new PC. I had zero issues and can do flights with my PMDG aircraft on my new P3D instance. BUT, I have not attempted to have both P3d instances running simultaneously. I would need to buy another license to feel comfortable doing that and I'm not sure LM still sells v5 licenses. Edit: The install to my other PC was to begin the process of migrating to that much faster machine with my flying. It will likely take 100's of hours of installing aircraft, scenery and utilities before I can finally "use" it, and now that I have most of my scenery issues resolved on my existing P3D install, I'm not motivated to work on that right now. September 16, 2025Sep 16 Not sure about the process of "moving" a PMDG license, but for P3D itself there are a limited count of activations initially assigned to your purchase, hence the recommendation to deactivate and thus keep the count of activations in your favour. Once you exceed the activation count P3D will no longer activate and you'd need to email P3D licensing for a reset stating your reasons for a reset. September 16, 2025Sep 16 If I remember correctly, when uninstalling the P3D Client, the uninstaller asks you if you want to deactivate P3D. After that, you can proceed with the whole uninstall. Just for curiosity: what will your new rig be? It's usually a real hassle with PMDG whenever I've changed my hardware. I'm giving my current system to my wife, and she has no interest in flight simming. So I should probably uninstall everything first?? Thank you guys! I did two years ago and whilst it's a major exercise installing everything again it does guarantee problem-free installs. FlyTampa has some clever anti-piracy methods. I installed a few airports and then checked all was well. Lorby’s Addon Organizer is brilliant for ensuring everything is as it should be. The trickiest bit was ORBX and its insertion point. Make sure you adjust that early on. And don’t forget ORBX Global package and opting to make a separate install and not overwrite the default textures. There was a right old stink about that when it first came out. Ray (Cheshire, England).
