How to modify pitch sensitivity?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I know this man triggers very controversial opinions, but this video helped me personally a lot with my "twitchy control problems".

I barely use anything else since, just here and there a tiny bit of sensitivity.

Good luck

Mick

Was there a link intended to be shown?

What version of the sim are you using as currently SU4 Beta cannot access hardware settings and sensitivity curves?

Thanks for the headup. Didn't notice it till you mentionned it. Didn't find any report on the official forum (Sim Update 4 Beta | Hardware), so created one: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/hardware-settings-inop/739103 for MSFS2024 Beta SU4 1.6.7.0

EDIT: sorry, it obviously exists, my bad https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/cannot-access-any-controller-hardware-settings/737782

That's embarrassing, sorry for that. Here it is:

Sorry again

Long video with short message - keep the contol settings linear and increase extremity dead zone to effectively reduce the physical range of movement of the control surfaces.

This could work for aircraft with a really high range of control surface movement that would nearly never be needed, and if you are flying in calm air. BUT it can be very dangerous in situations where you need full deflection: let it be the nosewheel in tight curves, the elevator during extreme gusts or with center of gravity settings at the edge of the allowed range, or rudder on a twin with one engine out. Let alone aerobatic aircraft where you will need full deflection.

So to me this seems not the best cure for all control problems, especially if your flightstick produces spikes in the input signal. BTW, hardware settings are inaccessible in beta 4 for now.

Another near 20 minute video for what should be a 10 second message, and isn't even good advice.  I wish people would stop posting videos from this guy who just plays the YouTube algorithm.

I will give you my answer that takes 5 seconds to read.

I have found for best results, use a combination of the sensitivity settings to your own taste.  Simples.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

all social media is basically 90% slop these days, intended to generate revenue, it was better when people didn't get paid for what they put on youtube

people who have made it a job now just chase revenue rather than quality and entertainment

not sure what the 2024 way is, but in 2020, just change that axis sensitivity down to like -80%, this is one of the best things you can do for handling realism imo
