Almost ready for MS2024.

Featured Replies

After rebuilding my Office, I am almost ready for buying MS2024 for a complete new install on my gaming pc. I bought FS2020 via Steam and guess I'll do the same with MSFS2024. Do you have any advice for preparing the pc for 2024 so to get the optimum setup and install?

Secondly, I will (only) buy the Standard version, but would like also to have the C-17, and I remember seeing that it will be possible to buy it separately, but can't remember how and what it will cost, maybe you can point me in the right direction.

I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do.

You're going to have a great time. Just play around with the settings and find what works best in the days and weeks to come.

The C17 is available separately to rent from £3.64 or to buy for £12.24

Do you have a link to where I can see the prices of each plane which is available to rent/buy?

Have you ever subscribed to Gamepass for PC before? You can get Gamepass for PC and install MSFS 2024 on your computer and try it out.  If you have never subscribed to Gamepass, you can get Gamepass for the initial 14 days and it will cost you $1 USD, if you live in the US. If you don't live in the US, check how much Gamepass costs in your country, but in general, it should be super cheap for the first 14 days in other countries as well.  Just make sure you unsubscribe before you are charged for the second month.

Once you have MSFS 2024 installed from Gamepass, you can check everything, including how it runs on your computer, the prices of the planes, etc. Unfortunately, I am on a trip now so I don't have access to MSFS 2024.  But if you can get the first 14 days of Gamepass, you can find out all this information very quickly.  And also, make sure you get Gamepass for PC, not Gamepass for XBox (if you get Gamepass for XBox, it cannot be used for your PC).

I have them both! 👍 Both have pros and cons ofcourse, but with a little tweaking here and there, to suit/fit your rig, i think you will like 2024 also, they are both great in different perspectives! 🌞👍😃

Buy a key here and get the Premium Deluxe Edition and you will save about $40. That's what I did. https://www.loaded.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-2024-premium-deluxe-edition-xbox-series-x-s-pc-ww

@jlund in addition to what YukonPete says, owning premium deluxe will also give you a permanent 33% discount on future Microsoft addons from the Marketplace.  For instance, the YS-11 was just released.  It's 19.99 USD if you own standard but if you own PD it's about 12.99 or so.

Just make sure you have enough drive space for 2024 and a rather big rolling cache. I've set mine to 32 GB. I guess you've already selected CPU/GPU/RAM/cooling accordingly.

I have 2020 Premium Deluxe, and I see the YS11 with the discount there. I have however 2024 Standard and I see there the full price (and the free trial too). If I purchase the YS11 in 2020, would I get it into 2024? The last purchase I did in 2020 Marketplace was before I got 2024. When I got it, the purchase appeared in my 2024 library.

You can see what my specs are in my tags below my post, and I assume it will be good enough to run MS2024.

Is that even legal to just buy a key from there? It sounds strange that you can buy it so much cheaper than through the official places (Marketplace or Steam). Thanks for the tip though, but I think I'll stick with the Steam version.
