ORBX Flash Sale: need quick advise

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have noticed the ORBX Flash Sale right now but have some questions.

Flytampa KLAS: Is this working on MSFS2024?

Flytampa EHAM: Is this working on MSFS2024? It is worth buying it? Are there any updates planned?

FSimStudios CYVR: Is  this working on MS2024 and still good or a new rendition planned?

ORBX ESSA: You can buy one version for MS2020 and MS2024. If I buy it for MS24 it probably won't on MS20. Is there a upgrade fee if I would buy the MS20 version and then upgrade?

Digital Design EDDP: Is it still worth buying or is it worth waiting for another rendition?

Thank you guys, I hope someone will take little time so I put the purchase in the next hour or so

Vancouver works well for me. Have not heard of a new one coming out.

Vegas was updated lately and works well for me.

Need to disable the original in MSFS.

Have no idea for the Europe airports.

I use 2024

Klas and Cyvr are well done but show some age as they have been out for awhile.

Very much worth it in my opinion.

Also check cyyj for a smaller great airport also on sale

FSimStudios is working on a 2024 native YVR.  Not sure of the upgrade path.

The current version is working without issues in 2024.

EHAM is also quite good.  I can’t speak to the others.

Does Orbx say these are 2020, 2024 or both?  I seem to recall an issue where if Orbx Central doesn't see an add-on as being supported in 2024 it won't install it.  I believe there are work arounds if you also have 2020 installed, but if not you may be out of luck.

I found this: https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/223615-orbx-essa-stockholm-arlanda-airport-is-now-available-for-microsoft-flight-simulator-2024/

it states that people who own the 2020 version can update for free on orbx central. or doesn't it work or i misread it?

Alright, I just bought ESSA and EHAM and couple others, however they don't show up on ORBX Central. It might be because I don't have MS2020 installed right now. I tried to create a fake MSFS2020 folder, however that didn't solve anything.

Has anyone a solution for that?

In the Orbx app after going to my products if you switch to 2020 on top they don't show up?

I don’t think Direct will install it unless it sees an actual sim install.

I still have both versions installed (exactly for reasons such as this), but I think there’s a supported work around, such as a “download anyway” link or some such.

best to check the Orbx forums as you are certainly not the first to run into this.

This explains how to create a fake msfs2020 install:

That didn't work for ORBX :(

It does, with all due respect, you do have to do it right.

It does work. I just tried it. Make sure you get all the steps correct.
