This beta appears smoother than any others except the first which was probably the best.

I do still get the landing stutter at Community airports... but I am starting to suspect that non native freeware airports are a big factor as parts of them tend to load up right as I'm landing.

Working theory only hehe.

Goes back to this post I made a while back. So many airports are unoptimized for 2024 and it shows. Airports like KTUL from F2H work great in 2020 but in 2024 it's a dumpster fire of performance issues. To the point where it's not enjoyable to fly in... and what's sad is it's a relatively small airport in comparison to something like KSFO from FB which does tremendously better... blows my mind.

I think I had read that when you posted but didn't know it was you at the time.  Since I make liveries I've sort of dealt with this as well... the 2024 files are .KTX2 textures, even more compressed than the .DDS in 2020.  I believe that 2020 textures running in 2024 have an even greater impact on VRAM unfortunately.  This goes for sceneries as well... which should use the newer format if 2024 native.  But truthfully speaking I have MANY dds textures in my 2020 sceneries which I've added to 24 via Addons Linker.  So I try to keep this in mind when I'm testing performance differences between betas etc.

Oh one other thing I wanted to mention for anyone with stutters

Occasionally I use this cache clearing tool.  Other big video game titles do this automatically after an update...  so I think using it is warranted imo - no ill effects have come from this tool on my rig.

My bad potato fingers, sorry!

Now it works, cleaned cache and so on (found a script on flightsim.to, very useful), rebooted and everything works fine.

With 4k triples ad EDDF with the duke, rainy live weather and BATC maxed out, 66 fps. Not bad!

I am in the process of systematically replacing all of my airports with MSFS2024-only versions.

Its just sad how few of the marketplace companies are offering upgrades, so I not only lose that investment, but end up switching to a version from a company that's faster on its feet.
