MSFS 2024 SU4 Beta 1.6.18.0 is Live Now !

Is that performance improvement due to code optimisations, or does the landing gear on AI planes disappear at 50 feet now instead of 100?

  • Here you go.  Looks like a RC build.  Blue skies, -B https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-4-beta-1-6-18-0-release-notes-october-22-2025/743376 RELEASE NOTES Sim Update 4 Beta

I am back to getting the terribly slow cockpit redraw issues again after re-joining the beta.  SU3 was perfect.

Issue:  Switch to external view, look around for a second or two, go back into the cockpit and the instruments are redrawing slowly.
Most aircraft are about a second, but the YS-11 is taking about 5 or 6 seconds each time - terrible. Never had this in any other build.
Other than this, performance is stellar!

What I have tried: -

Clean all caches including rolling cache.
Different Nvidia drivers, including the latest.
Completely empty Community folder.
No third party apps running, such as Sky4Sim and Atmos.
Various internal settings such as LODs from 100 each to 200, 400.
Rolling cache at 0, 16gb, 32gb, 64gb.
Tried downloading the aircraft instead of streaming - no difference whatsoever.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Smoother than SU4 Beta 1.6.16.0  Less stutters than previous, relatively on the same sceneries and conditions. (Although checking with my old PC)

I have also found that this build brings better performance: in my case up from c80fps to c108fps (using Framegen, ofc) under like conditions in the Fenix A320 at Inibuilds EGLL.

Also in today’s nasty weather I again got a “windshear” warning in the Fenix.

Thrustmaster Airbus Edition throttles etc, TPR pedals, MiniCockpit FCU, WinWings FCU, WinWings Orion 2 F15E, WinWings A320 sticks.

Still stutters, try again

Oh sorry to hear that, still not getting anything here that I would call a stutter but your standards might be higher than mine.

120FPS where? With a default C172 on a remote GA strip or with the ini A350 on EGLL with AI traffic?

With the Fenix, with Ai traffic, at payware Palma. Getting a consistent 108-110fps, occasionally spiking higher. I've seen it go as high as 120. This is with framegen on, so native fps is in the 50-60 range.

Also, did you not read  - "it just is butter smooth now at 100+ fps - at payware airports with the Fenix and traffic at 100%.. "

?

His attention is tuned to the negative.

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

9900X3D, 5090RTX Varjo Aero VR Smooth as well. Using the Nvidia Smooth Motion with DLSS Balanced. TLOD 200 (AUTO FPS 75 at Ground). The best Beta Build for my RIG atm.
Less Low Frames as prevvious build, captured with CAPFrameX

My attention is tuned to hard facts and meaningful statements. Except that he mentioned the Fenix, it is rather unprecise, no? Payware airports can mean whatever, the known performance hogs or something easy on FPS. Same goes with AI traffic: 100% AIG traffic? 100% ingame default AI? 100% of what? Makes a huge difference on FPS. That is why I asked...

Edit - not worth going back and forth. Enjoy your sim.

Looks like a complete reboot fixed it.

Will try later from cold and dark, but just by spawning on runway now I can turn.
