Black Square Baron Professional - Ground Roll Speed

No visible feathering of the blades in the 2020 model

I just practiced an engine shut down last night, and I thought the feathering physics was amazing... Did you put the lever into feather quickly? They won't feather unless you do it quickly after shut down which is realistic.

I just checked again, and at idle, prop at 800rpm, no ground roll. Steady roll begins at 900 rpm.

yep. That is the ticket.

Cool. thanks for the info. I should check the manual and see if its in there.

Curious if anyone has perspective on how these new ones measure up to the Duke(s)?

I have the Dukes and have flown them extensively. I've only done one longer flight in the Bonanza so far, and some playing around in the Bonanza and Baron, but my impression is that they and that the Dukes are very much cut from the same cloth. The standard of visual model, sound, flight model, systems modelling and documentation seems very comparable.

If you like the Dukes, I think you'll like the Bonanzas and Barons too! Slightly different mission profiles obviously, but the same immersion and attention to detail.

What is your rpm showing?

For me, manifold pressure is on the bottom stop across a range of low rpm settings (also in 2024). At 1000 rpm, I see the Baron accelerating to something more brisk than taxi speed. 800 rpm seems to give a good stable taxi speed.

I will look at rpm, thanks

This helped.  I happy again 🙂

I'm not seeing it in any of the 3 variants in 2024.  I just checked now.

Is there somehow another axis or button assigned to throttles conflicting?

Thanks for reply, I figured it out.   I just needed to rolled back the rpm's to 800rpms.

Something nice about the Baron & Bonanza is the default FOV is realistic (on my 1440p display), not too 'zoomed out' like most models. They are the only models I've purchased where I haven't changed the FOV or cockpit view.

Are the GNS units the same WT models as used in the Comanche? Visually, they look slightly different, e.g., the buttons.

They are the same... certain devs have slightly different GNS and GTN models from what I've seen
