November 27, 2025Nov 27 edit: Ok I watched some parts of the video. This is about ANOTHER developer creating a service where you purchase a subscription from them and gain access to airports etc. Seems like it would violate the TOS from Microsoft... but maybe they worked something out. To save you 7 minutes of this guy talking the product is called Sim Atlas (google it). Oh minor point (LOL) it's only with participating developers - according to this map, at least in the USA, there are ZERO payware airports in the subscription. (These appear to be all SamScene cities - good product btw). I'm not against the idea but they'd need FAR MORE content than what's currently on their map gain me as a customer. At first glance I thought it was somehow including Microsoft products.... you know... with the click bait video title and all. The video leads you to believe that it's a new announcement from Microsoft ("Major Change to MSFS") but it's not a change to MSFS, just a developer with a subscription model. It's actually been done before by BMW/Amsim - but on a smaller scale. You subscribe per month and gain access to their airports. But I think it's different in that you keep the airports. This one makes it sound like you do NOT have access to the airports if you're not subbed. (The video mentions running an app in the background while the sim is also running) Edited November 28, 2025Nov 28 by ryanbatc | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

November 28, 2025Nov 28 Do we really need one more subscription platform? Is the market that big that developers with their own platform (not subscription based except the controversial BMW/Amsim/Glideslope Pro) need to split revenue with an in-between players? I'm too old and think that these platforms don't bring enough value. Looks like they want to have a piece of the cake. And I definitely prefer to give my $ directly to devs, and "owning the product for ever". I'm not a MSFS product binger. Edited November 28, 2025Nov 28 by vbazillio Vincent B. November 28, 2025Nov 28 To expensive and to less airports available. And I am sure that some of them I already have bought earlier. With just 100 products available it won't work. The world seems to offer services more and more subscribing based .. Under the line this will increase cost trumendesle Regards, Marcus P.
November 28, 2025Nov 28 I do like the idea of this though, but not necessarily the execution of this one. I normally don’t do flights out of big hubs but recently thought it might be nice to switch things up. Now, lets say there’s 15 them around the world I’d want to check out. At say $20 a pop I’d have to buy $300 worth of sceneries. And yes I’d own them forever, but realistically I’d only fly to/from each once. But if they were all available for like $10 for a month, that would be perfect. Do a month or two, then cancel when I don’t need them. To me that’s a great use of something like this. Want to check out a region you don’t normally fly in? Grab all the sceneries for a bit without spending $$$. Edited November 28, 2025Nov 28 by Georgleboui
