Def can't hold it and operate everything else so curious how users do this. I have one which I use for 2KSports PGA Tour Golf. Yes, Noel, as pointed out above, we don’t need to hold it continuously while flying our SIM airplanes, as e.g., my teen does…🙂… You just have it on your desk within easy reach, and use it only for activities such as Drone or Camera View Panning, when you’re not actively flying the airplane or adjusting any cockpit instruments. You may or may not find it suitable for yourself, but, since you already have one, it might be worth a try.. Cheers…!

January 2Jan 2 Author To everyone who made the suggestion about using an Xbox controller, while in drone view; can you circle or go around your aircraft with the drone camera using the gamepad controller??
January 2Jan 2 Hmmmm ... looks like I may be digging out my old X-Box controller from the junk box!!! I'm a bit of a screenshot junkie, so this will probably my drone view sessions a little easier to manage.

That’s the entire point of using the Xbox controller. You fly the drone around however you like. You can even detach it from the plane, set speed to 200 in the camera settings and just go explore the world. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

January 3Jan 3 Am I missing something here? You can circle/go around your plane with the normal drone camera controls. You do not need an XBox controller to do it. That is, "rotate" as in adjusting the pitch and yaw.

Hi Chris: In MSFS, as folks have said, once you get used to it, it's much more intuitive and easier to use the Xbox controller for such specific (non-pilotage) camera and viewing tasks...than the (PC based) WASD & Arrow Keys etc... After all, it has two built-in (little) joysticks (aka thumbsticks) that help with fluid and precise control of movements, which is generally hard to achieve on the PC. Of course, PC can also be customized for such tasks, but the Xbox Controller already has preset mappings that are convenient. It all depends on your own preference. There are many helpful videos on it.

It is entirely possible to completely control the drone from the keyboard, just like in theory you can fully fly the plane with keyboard and mouse. But it's just more fun with hardware that does the job better. For the drone, the Xbox controller is amazing. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

I would also add a bit...from my Xbox experience: "...just like in theory you can fully fly the plane with keyboard and mouse and an Xbox controller..." but an independent flight-controller hardware does the job much better...
