Edition - since I heavily rely on many 3rd party addons I assume the standard edition will suffice? 2. How do I use existing content purchased on MSFS2020 marketplace? For example the ATR and other airports even if they are not officially compatible in 2024 3. How do I use other 2020 addons purchased on ORBX, inibuilds etc…? Do I simply drag them from the older folders to the new 2024 community folder? 4. Graphic settings - are they the same as in 2020 so I can set them up pretty quickly and get the same results? Specs are in my sig. I understand my main limitation will be VRAM as I use a 4K screen… Any other tips you’ve learned which can make our life easier in the transition? Thanks! 1 The higher editions add many new planes that were never in 2020. But the standard edition will suffice if you don't need unusual, old, and odd planes. 2 Easiest one to answer. They will all appear in 2024 automatically. 3 Drop them into the new community folder. Some will work perfectly, and some will have issues. 4 The settings will be about the same. Except there are some new settings. And some were moved in the menu, such as Dev Mode is now in "Advanced" section. The biggest issue you will have is assigning commands to your controllers. It's a mess to figure out the new GUI. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Fenix Installer will take care of this. And yes, 2024 versions are free if you had their 2020 product(s) Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
January 12Jan 12 My tip with addons is to not just bulk copy everything over. The marketplace is easy, if it shows in the 2024 marketplace, you can install it (anything labeled not compatible won't show). I would recommend against copying your community folder over. I'd take the opportunity to start clean and see what is compatible. Most will work fine and many people just copy it over, but consider cleaning house. I had so many addon airports I never flew to in 2020. I went on fs dot to and cleared all my download history and started clean. Just helps keep down the clutter. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
