February 4Feb 4 It seems that snow coverage is much more accurate since last year at least in NA, and especially near the ocean like at PAJN. Very noticible to me anyway. dd Edited February 4Feb 4 by Sky_Pilot071

Dialing up the thickness of snow coverage is not convincing especially with no 3D aspects in deep snow. February 4Feb 4 I _think_ it's more accurate than it used to be, but it's all anecdotal. The other day I flew from KSIK up to KFAM. KSIK only had (in real life) an inch or two of snow. Whereas KFAM, just 80 miles NNW, had 15 inches. In the sim at KSIK there was only sporadic coverage. At KFAM it was all covered. It is true that DEPTH isn't modelled very well. Seems like for deep snow they just make everything white whereas with a light snow there might be brown patches here and there. February 5Feb 5 What about cold weather simulation? My altimeter in ENGM is showing the same in minus 10c today . Should be 4% per 10 degree for that altitude. So i would guess about 70feet differents Michael Moe Edited February 5Feb 5 by Michael Moe Michael Moe
February 5Feb 5 I've noticed in Central Europe, snow is much more realistic. In MSFS2020, you've had basically a 100km blob which only knew "1m snow coverage" or "no snow" resulting in snow covered valleys and in the next part, you've had no snow at all even on 3000m high peaks. In MSFS2024, it's a much finer grid and also somehow shows mountain tops covered in snow, while valleys are blank. Haven't proved it with evidence, but snow coverage feels pretty accurate.
February 5Feb 5 My main issue with snow is that its something just disappears in front of your eyes. I was on final to LOWS ground is all covered with snow, and then in a split second all gone and everything is green. A couple of weeks ago it was not improved. The usual flying into Innsbruck into a snow covered valley and then looking at webcam footage only to realize that once more the snow was only abover 2000 meters and not in the valley in real life.
