They keep adding stuff, but networking live weather is still broken! Been like that since networking was introduced! Clouds, rain, lightning all a mismatch over the network!!!

Did they fire the networkguy/gal?

Maybe they just contracted the guy/gal for airport gates and vehicular traffic.

I don't have any sway at Laminar, but I know Delta pretty well.  Last I heard about this was it wasn't a high priority, but they had someone working on it.  Other than that, I can't speak on it.

On the other hand, as a non-tubeliner guy, it's nice to see the X1000 getting some more love:

Quote

X1000

  • Added a new weather radar overlay on the main map (soft key: “WX RADAR”)
  • Display the engine soft key on the PFD in reversionary mode (XPD-17831)
  • Fixed an issue when creating custom waypoints (XPD-17858)

Also happy to see the native Tobii Eye Tracker support getting some improvements:

Quote
  • Improved the experience when using the Tobii Eye Tracker or TrackIR (mouse/keyboard adjustments remain active)

Thanks Laminar!

My understanding is that networking is fine in the pro version, but I have not seen this first hand myself.

From my understanding, there is no diff between pro and ours you just pay fir better support.

Just did a quick search, this is what I've found. Not sure how old this may be, but there appears to be differences.

X-Plane 12 offers basic networking features for multiplayer experiences, while the Professional version includes advanced networking capabilities suitable for commercial use, such as connecting multiple computers for a more immersive simulation environment. The Pro version is designed to support more complex setups, including those required for professional training and certification.

If there are differences, is there something in the pro version that allows for proper display of the weather that's missing from the basic version?

I though there was a basic fix to that last beta run, they have done some fixes.

I have not seen any bug reports for live weather, only historical weather (which I believe you already have a ticket for?) if not, XPD-17312
Lightning is already explained as a limitation that can't be solved in the near term.

Our networking person is not fired, but he also works on tasks beyond just synchronisation. So for the time being, there is nothing immediate.

What is the status with Motion Vectors?

Anyone know if there are any third party programs available that have an online weather program with clouds that work over network?
