just did a 4x time compression flight and when I went back x1 and opened the weather/time menu, it did not jump back to where I was when I enabled time compression
it was still at the time I should be, but I see no mention of that being fixed in any notes for the beta.

Maybe it was a fluke idk I'll have to do more testing

Ive been experiencing frequent pauses on the last couple of Fenix flights. They are not micro-stutters but very obvious long frames.

Rolling cache deleted and all other caches.  Not sure whats triggering it at the moment.

On SU4, had the same issue through the day where yesterday and the day before MS2024 ran just smooth.
We are not there yet with streaming and you must be online always to being able to play stuff. When there is a hick-up along the internet route, gameplay experience just goes down the drain. Shame.

Mine's still at 1.6.34.0 and I'm sure I am in the Beta? At least that's what xBox Insider says...

Have rebooted a couple times, still no go... MSFS 2024 doesn't update form me here 😞

EDIT: Ok, had to logout and login again from XBox and XBox Insider App, and now it is downloading 🙂

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Well, but after all I was unable to run it 😞

Now whenever I start 1.7.11.0 it gives a popup window about some head tracking settings having to be defined, and I can't interact with it, click OK and continue from there 😞

EDIT:

I just asked my good fellow "Copilot" about that and this was what it told me:

It looks like you’ve hit a known MSFS 2024 beta bug where the sim forces a head‑tracking binding prompt and then soft‑locks the UI. The issue has been reported by other beta testers, especially after recent updates, and it often happens even when no head‑tracking device is connected.

Below is a clear breakdown of what’s going on and what you can try right now.

🧭 What’s Causing the Lock‑Up?

  • The latest MSFS 2024 beta builds introduced new mandatory bindings for head‑tracking (Tobii, OpenTrack, TrackIR, etc.).

  • Some users get a “configure headtracking binding” popup on startup.

  • The popup captures all input, so you can’t click anything behind it — making the sim appear frozen.

  • Reports show it happens even without any head‑tracking hardware connected.

Workarounds You Can Try Right Now

1. Unplug or disable any device MSFS might think is a head‑tracker

Even if you don’t use head‑tracking, MSFS may detect:

  • Webcams

  • Tobii Eye Tracker

  • OpenTrack / AITrack virtual devices

  • TrackIR drivers

Try:

  • Disconnecting webcams temporarily

  • Closing OpenTrack/AITrack if installed

  • Unplugging Tobii devices

Then restart the sim.

2. Reset or remove the head‑tracking control profile

If the popup appears before you can reach the Controls menu, try this:

  1. Close MSFS.

  2. Go to your MSFS 2024 control profiles folder (location depends on Steam/MS Store).

  3. Temporarily rename or move the folder containing device profiles.

  4. Restart MSFS — it will rebuild clean default profiles.

This often clears corrupted or incomplete bindings.

3. Force MSFS to skip head‑tracking initialization

Some users report success by:

  • Disabling Tobii in Windows Game Bar settings

  • Disabling Tobii in MSFS (if you can reach the menu)

  • Turning off OpenTrack before launching

Tobii integration is known to behave inconsistently in MSFS 2024.

4. Try launching into Safe Mode

If MSFS offers Safe Mode after a crash, choose it — this loads without peripheral configs.

5. If nothing works: reinstall or delete only the “Input” folder

This avoids a full reinstall and resets only control bindings.

🛠️ Why This Is Happening (Beta-Specific)

  • The 1.7.11.0 beta introduced new head‑tracking requirements.

  • A bug causes the sim to think a binding is missing and blocks the UI.

  • Other testers have reported similar “head tracking message on load” issues after updates.

This is almost certainly a beta regression, not something wrong on your system.

had the same yesterday, MSFT Store a XBOX gave me a "no internet connection" error though I did have internet. obviously a server glitch which grounded me, saw some yellow exclamation mark at XBOX server status yesterday. today all good and beta downloaded, happily flying now the A340 into EGNM

I assume the LOD with landing gear won't be fixed?

I wouldn't assume anything.

The distance the main landing gear renders seems to have increased with SU5, but nose gear still disappears before everything else.
