why should WE need more 747?
i am happy with all 737 in FS2024 and do not need any 747 in the 737 topic.

because there is loads of 737s and no 747s 🤣

I barely flew the 2020 version so to me this 2024 version looks really nice! I like my cockpits looking new especially since I'm flying the BBJ variety

Hallelujah! A new video short just dropped: Looks like mostly cuts from the longer video released a couple days ago.

  • So.... I've had my first check out of the new -700.  She's a beauty for sure.  I paid £23 upgrade price, as I owned the -700 for 2020.   For that price, I'm happy with it.  The new textures are nice b

PMDG needs to forget the quest to be the 737 variant add-on King. First add-on developer with a high fidelity 787 wins all the marbles. They will have massive cash flow to become the MSFS 2024 behemoth.

Picked this up on release day.  For me its okay and I don't seem to have any performance issues with it.  I do get the VRAM error but I also get it with many other aircraft and it never seems to cause any issues.  Sometimes I feel its more of an internal issue with FS2024 than anything really wrong at least on many systems.  In the cockpit it looks a little better but not hugely so.  Same for the exterior textures don't seem to really really be much different.  I am hearing the exterior textures in this release are not the final versions so guess we can expect better textures in the future.  A lot of extra modeling detail both inside and out which was not mandatory but kind of cool.  I am looking forward to the same updates for the 600, 800 and 900.  I also a bit perplexed that all the effort PMDG is putting into this plane in order to improve it but for some reason can't be bothered to do a non winglet version.  I guess we will just have to wait for a competitor to make a better 737NG.

Only real issue I am having that is bothering me I am a wing view nut at times.  In the models for FS2020 and the earlier FS2024 models you would get a nice clean view of the wing.  For now the same views exist but you got some sort of annoying box looking thing in the way.  For example go to Views and Showcase and select External 8.  You get a nice view behind the wing but it has  some sort of textureless box destroying the nice clean view you had before.  Not sure if its just anomaly with my particular paint or will be magically fixed in a future update but for now I liked it better before.

I would love to do a screen shot but not sure how?  Let me see if I can figure it out!

Right now I am flying from SIT-SEA in the Alaska 737-700 colors.

With an NVIDIA video card Alt+ F9 takes a screenshot.

I think I got it figured out...

This is what I get in my wing views with the new model.  Not sure if its a missing texture or not but I like it better when it was mostly just a clean wing view.  This is the passenger version.  The left side is much the same but not as bad.

Seems to me you are pushing through the fuselage rather than the window. Pull back a bit to see if the window is in view directly in front, I suspect it will be the aircraft frame between the windows.

î see absolute the same in the left and in the right view. the camera is fixed, i can not move in this view...

Can you not move the camera using the keyboard shortcuts (W, A, S, D, Q, E) or arrow keys?

yes i cant move.
Chaseplane describes the affected views as ‘showcase’ views, which I cannot change. I can move all the other views. Has PMDG perhaps set this camera view (two views in my case) with incorrect coordinates? The other showcase views are fine.

Ah, okay, didn't realise you are using Chaseplane. As I don't use it I cannot help you further with how to setup the cameras, hopefully someone else can chime in.

All I can say is if the camera view is correct, then you do not see the issue in your picture. After saying that PMDG should set the object collisions so that you cannot clip into the fuselage!

By the way PMDG do not have default views for the wings, only for the cockpit as far as I'm aware (ctrl+0-9). Maybe Chaseplane have not yet a default configuration for the -700?

First thing I do with a new airliner is saving my own custom views. For all MSFS 2024 airliners I even simply copied over the camera.txt from MSFS 2020. Works perfectly.
