Saving custom camera views in MSFS 2024 broken

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm that the MSFS 2024 "Save custom camera views" option is broken and or is there a fix for this?  I have tried all the different key combinations like Ctrl + Alt + number etc with no success.  Anybody got any clues?

I have not had any issues, just saved new views the other day...

Did you check your key assignments? You can try deleting them and re-assigning

It's the numbers on the main keyboard, top row, not those in the numeric keypad !

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I use the numeric keypad (or did until I bought Chaseplane).

Yes, but AFAIK, the Ctrl_Alt-Number0-9 only works with the main keyboard numbers (?)

It depends what keys you have assigned.

I use Ctrl + Numpad key to set each custom view, then just the Numpad key to view it.

The most likely reason for any key assignments not working in 2024, is duplicate binding.

Try going back into the control settings and have a look at the assignments you have for the custom camera views... if each key assignment has a small number (eg '2') after it, it means their is a duplicate binding.

Theoretically, 2024 does allow duplicate binding, eg the cursor/arrow keys can be assigned to internal and drone functions, but in most other cases, duplication will cause things not to work.

I've just set up custom views for the Black Square Caravan this morning, so the function definitely works 👍

Check your controller settings/keyboard. There are a few YT videos that show you how to easily set up your keyboard to save views quickly. I have keyboards saved as GA or Airliner or BATC or DRONE etc. This allows me to quickly select what I want and then select the views I want. If you ever need to re-install, the keyboards are saved in the server.
