According to the YT videos, and Google AI, yes it works with Nvidia cards. The popup window in MSFS (when you type the Insert key), shows that FS4 is enabled on my system which has an Nvidia 4070 12 GB card.

All the files go into the folder where flightsimulator2024.exe is located. And then you run the installer from inside that location. On my system flightsimulator2024.exe is located in C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content

After running the installer, a file called Remove OptiScaler.bat appears there for use to remove OptiSclaer later if you wish to do that.

Why stock MSFS2024 FSR seems to be more stable and give less stutters than DLSS for frame generation with RTX cards? At least on my system: rtx4090 i9 11900k 64gb ram ddr4, locked at 30 frames and now I have 60 frames smooth with most settings at ultra in 4k, TLOD and OLOD at 150. By reading this post I made the change and it is like my 50% MSFS2024 frames issues are gone! Yet to check this FSR4.

While running the installer from the main flightsim2024 folder, it will ask a couple of questions like what brand is your gpu and what .dll file name do you want to use (it gives you a list of choices for the name). One of the choices mentions something like Xbox Store, which is what I used because my msfs2024 is the Store version. If you make the wrong choice no changes will happen and the choice box reappears for you to make the right choice. (It was google AI that told me what choice to make because I asked Google AI while it was guiding me through the process).

With the Optiscaler Client, it's just one click. So much easier than doing it manually.

I think the bottom line is that AMD is now out in front of Nvidia.

I just listened to Mark in Toronto 🙂

FS4 was designed only for the higher end AMD cards. But this hack was designed to use it on other type of cards. The installation asked if your card is AMD or Nvidia, and it listed another name too, I forget which.

I learned about this first from this video. He is not using windows OS, so it's not entirely the right method. But he does show the difference in the game with FSR4

1) he says at 2:00 to remove contact shadows in msfs options.

2) 3:37 "then just type 1 to select the first option" when running the setup.bat. But the first option was not correct for me and nothing happened if I tried option 1. Google AI told me to choose winmm.dll instead (3:40).

I only have 2 setup files in that zip, setup_linux_sh and setup_windows.bat.
If I run setup_windows.bat a command prompt opens with 8 option to choose from.
And then what... (the wiki op Github doesn't make more sense either)?

At 3:40 you can see those 8 choices. I chose option 2.

4:01 "and then choose 4.1". That choice was not listed there for me in the app shown (app opens with Insert key). That is when Google AI told me to change the text in 2 places in the .ini file in order to make the choice appear.

Something is not going well here :

After installing the files and running MSFS 2024 ( triple screen ) I get multiple error Windows and then CTD :
