The new UI makes quickly seeing what you choose way easier instead: The classic menu only changed a text so, for example, if you called catering, it would change "Request Catering" to "Catering reque

What an exaggerated comment. The work that is being done recently to progress GSX is very impressive. There is nothing else like it. I believe that the UI menu is large, but I believe that it is to be

So you know the going back to the old UI for which we were chastised for looking like an VAX terminal menu from the 70' is a downgrade...and yes, you CAN go back to it, it's called Classic Menu in the

For anyone that has a working copy of GSX ... DO NOT conduct the hot fix! it completely ruined the program that no re-install will help. (im thinking there are hidden files that i cannot find that is the issue 😓 )

take it you tried the following

When a GSX hotfix breaks the application, it usually means the background scripting engine (Couatl) failed to restart, or your antivirus quarantined core update files. You can quickly resolve this by restarting the engine from the Windows system tray or checking your antivirus settings. [1, 2, 3]

1. Restart the Couatl Engine

The most common cause of GSX going completely dark is that the Couatl64 background script failed to relaunch after the hotfix was applied. [1, 2]

  • Minimize Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • Go to your Windows Taskbar and look in the bottom right corner near your clock.

  • Click the up arrow ( ^ ) to reveal hidden system tray icons.

  • Look for the Couatl icon (it looks like a small blue/green script or gear).

  • Right-click the icon and click Restart.

  • Maximize the simulator and press the GSX hotkey (usually CTRL + SHIFT + F12 or open the toolbar menu). [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Check Antivirus Interference

Hotfixes add or modify executable .exe files, which frequently triggers false positives in Windows Defender, Norton, or McAfee. [1, 2]

  • Open your Antivirus dashboard and check the Protection/Quarantine History.

  • Restore any recently flagged GSX or Couatl files (specifically Couatl64_MSFS2024.exe).

  • Add your main MSFS folder and the FSDT installation directory to your antivirus Exclusion List. [1, 3]

3. Re-Run the Universal Installer

If the files are corrupted, running the installer as an administrator will force a clean repair. [1]

  • Close MSFS completely.

  • Download and open the FSDreamTeam Universal Installer.

  • Right-click the installer icon and select Run as Administrator.

  • Locate GSX Pro, and click Update/Reinstall to ensure all hotfix files are properly downloaded and extracted.

This thread is tempting me to install GSX.

I'd like to use it for my business jet flying.

Can I set up GSX so that when I arrive at the airport I'm greeted by ramp personnel & guided to the parking spot?

The default does a good job, but I'd like to use it with BATC.

You can depending on the profile that you have for the airport. if the profile has included VDGS screens then they will guide you in if a marshaller is in the profile then they will guide you in. I use it with BATC and when BATC assigns the gate and you acknowledge it GSX will prep the gate ready for your arrival.

It bricked my install, glad it worked for you! But Scouring their forums and discord I’m not the only one having that issue.

Perhaps pete_auau above has a point about the antivirus…

Happy to report that after the latest GSX update, I finally understand all the positive comments people have been making. The new layout is clean, organized, and much easier to navigate. Before this update, the UI honestly felt like a complete mess, so I just couldn’t see what everyone else was praising. Huge improvement overall.

So maybe you would like to correct your OP no? It unfairly gives GSX a bad name and makes your posts skeptical.
