I am being blocked when trying to access their forum. Also I am unable to open OC3.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

No issues with OC3 or Forums for me at this time.

No problem here with OC3 but with the forum, I get blocked once in a while when using a VPN (Canadian servers). When this happens, I disconnect the VPN then reconnect it and it works. Why ? I have no idea :-(

I tried pausing the vpn but no joy.

Considering PMDG aren't into anonymity and require every user of their forum to post their full name, it wouldn't surprise me if they blocked access for those using a VPN 😉

Even when using a VPN you real name is visible on the pmdg forums.

I wasn't suggesting that using a VPN would remove your name from PMDG's forum 😄

Just that it wouldn't surprise me if they have decided to block access to their forum, from VPNs.

When I simply pause the VPN, I also close and restart my internet browser before reconnecting to PMDG Forums. It might help (or not) in your case.

The thing is that I can access their forum while using a VPN most of the time. It is just that once in a while, I'll be blocked, but not often.

Just tried it, and, yes, I was blocked from logging in while on a VPN connection. Worked fine without the VPN.

You can always just use a fake name on the PMDG forms btw. They don't do any cross referencing to see who is real, and they don't actually care if anyone uses a fake name, no matter how obvious, until other users complain. So, no need to feel obligated to actually expose your identity over there. You just need to sign a name, not your actual name.

I would complain if I found out. There is a reason for the real names. It is supposed to help with civility. And I rather prefer that people who don't want to reveal their real name just stay away and use PMDG's Discord instead where those rules not apply.

Just pointing out that it's just as easy to get around the requirement, if someone wishes. I'm not there anymore because my real name will never appear publicly searchable in connection with flight sim video games (professional privacy is of course more important), and I also won't lie about it. But for anyone who wishes to, it's just that easy. There's all kinds of obvious fake names on there; maybe half are real and that's being generous.

Then why not add your real name here, and help increase civility? 😉
