iFly 737 Max version 1.1.0.0 is out now

Featured Replies

A patch has entered testing that should fix the excess resource usage by the iFly app and EFB. Also adds some extra customization options to the EFB (personal wallpapers, start up video.)

This comment doesn't really make sense. SP1 was never going to be native 2024. That was communicated very clearly on the roadmap after initial release. SP1 first, native 2024 next, Max9 and furthe

I’ll bite.. I grew up on Flightsim, since I was 8 in fact. I’m a captain on the 737 in US. Playing Flightsim is a part of life. Do I have desires to fly the same plane on Flightsim? No, not really. F

Does that include a memory leak?

Not sure what to make of it. Very disappointed. Again love or hate PMDG it's rock solid with short or long haul.

That's what 'excess resource usage' means.

Not in my understanding. "Excess resource usage" could be limited to just optimizing certain tasks for better performance relative to CPU. Memory leak is allocating memory and fail to release it to the point of crash - this specifically has to do with RAM. Having 64 RAM on my PC and getting CTD implies on that. As far as performance I have no issue with iFly my CPU loaded max to 38% only; in other words, my performance doesn't degrade.

Yes, as well as cpu usage.

@Stearmandriver FWIW, i did another short flight HNL-OGG in it yesterday, flew ECON speeds and it did decelerate with ptich. From that single test, it could be that when using an entered speed, the plane loses its ability to recalculate a deceleration path.

I hope they've actually fixed the memory leak bug. I'm going to do a long haul this weekend to test it.

I own the PMDG 737 and now that this has been out for a little while curious to know from people that own both how the Ifly compares to the pmdg. I had the Ifly in fsx and loved it. Any reason to have both ?

They are both great. I haven't flown the Ifly yet with latest update but before the last update, it flown great for me. I get enjoyment from both.

I have both and couldn’t choose my favourite between the two. Wouldn’t want to be without either.

Whatever you like the most, this is my honest view.

iFly 737 MAX is much better than the PMDG in certain respects.

However, in my opinion, the previous iFly 737 MAX version had better flight dynamics than Version 1.1.0.0. We'll see what the next update brings, but at the moment, a few refinements would certainly be welcome.

I assume you’ve ticketed your flight dynamic issues with specific details?
