Saturday at 12:59 PM3 days Why is it that MSFS 2024 will not allow me to start on certain runways without having to slew the aircraft there? As an example, I have just tried to start on runway 03L at LGAV Athens (the FlyTampa version), but it put me on runway 03R. I have experienced this at several different airports to date, and it is extremely annoying. I do not recall this being a problem in MSFS 2020, P3D, or any other flight simulator that has ever existed. This is a simulator, not the real world. I should be able to start on literally any runway in the world. Other examples are runway 04L at FlyTampa EKCH Copenhagen, runway 04 at FlyTampa EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol, and runway 10L at the hand crafted version of LFMN Nice Cote D'Azur. Why is it that Asobo always create problems where none existed before? 😡 Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
Sunday at 12:06 AM3 days I think that I'd need a bit more information to understand what's causing your issues. Are you using the default MSFS 2024 ATC, an ATC add-on (BATC, SI, FSHud, AIG TC, etc.) or just using the MSFS free flight screen and selecting an airport/runway? I have a pile of 3rd party airports, so don't take this as a criticism of the genre. 3rd party airport developers tend to worry a lot about eye candy and tend to miss issues with the taxiway network. Sometimes, the developer has marked one end of a runway as closed. Occasionally, a runway start is missing. Some ATC apps care about these airport design issues and some don't. What's going on for youwith the handcrafted LFMN, I don't know. It's possible that MS/Asobo missed something. Anyway, I'll await your answer.
Sunday at 01:28 AM3 days I had the same problem at KFMY, Page field in Florida. I chose runway 5 several times and it started me on Runway 31.I dont thinks there was any special wind direction either.
Sunday at 01:39 AM3 days You guys need to check Enforce ATC flight plan.It seems backwards. But just check it and then you can start wherever. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
Sunday at 01:41 AM3 days Hi….try the following. It was given to me by Avsim member Donet. I had the same problem at KBUR.Enable "ATC Enforce Flight Plan": Go to Options > Assistance Options > ATC and set "ATC Enforce Flight Plan" to ON. This forces the simulator to honor your chosen starting position instead of defaulting to the runway in use based on wind.Let us know if it works.Xraythree Edited Sunday at 01:43 AM3 days by xraythree Jetline Systems, Windows 10 Professional, Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Pro Ax LG 1200, Intel Core i9 10900K Ten Core, Corsair H100 240mm Liquid Cooler, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR SDRAM 3200MHz, 10GB Nvidea GeForce RTX 3080 GDDR6X, 4TB M.2 NVMe SSD, 1000 watt Gold Power Supply.

Sunday at 11:52 PM2 days You can start anywhere in the airport. If you zoom in to runway and click at the hold short line as an example, you can start right there. Choose how you want to start with the drop down menu. MSFS
