@Stearmandriver saying he loves the Aerostar is making me wonder if I don’t need that too!?

3) Private Jet - rarely fly these but probably the default Asobo Longitude

Having been a long time fan of A2A from older sims, I of course have been enjoying their Comanche. I was never really interested in the Aerostar, but eventually it went on sale enough that I picked it up.

Short story: haven’t flown the Comanche since! Great addon of an aircraft that demands good piloting 😎

TBH, the Longitude is a fantastic addon with deep & accurate systems. Until the FSW Lear came along, it was my fave biz jet and I spent a LOT of time in it. In fact, if I could only have one Default aircraft, it might just be the Longitude!

  • Any of the high quality aircraft from MSCENERY🤣🤣🤣

  • Yeah, that’s a cop out 😆 I think a lot of these add ons now are so good they’d support the use of just the host sim and a single add on, and you’d still be entertained .Like back in the old days wher

BLACK SQUARE BONANZA !!

....but, the day the Black Square Commander 114 comes out, I expect it to replace the Bonanza as it's an absolute favourite of mine and I have about 10 times more rw hours in the 114 than in a Bonanza. 😎

Well, its kinda like picking your favorite child 😁

And, TBH, since we’re all flight sim billionaires, it interests me to see what other-other faves guys wouldn’t want to give up. 😎

Please explain a little more - I'm lost already 😆 Torque reduces as you put the helo under load? (raise the collective)?

The extent of my knowledge of helos is that they are whirry things with wings on the top that spin really fast and that their glide ratio is close to zero. 🫥😊 ...the latter has always scared me.

So, if sim development stood still right now, I guess I'd stick with the PMDG BBJ1 I've been using. I've grown quite fond of it. I've boosted the MTOW to 79 according to my own regulations (I think that's what the Australian Air Force uses in theirs).

I saw a seating chart where it was outfitted with 20 business angle flat seats in the front (although I think it could also fit as many Polaris lie flats from a United 757, and 66 economy seats crammed behind the overwing emergency exits in the back, so 86 pax in total. Also I've got the max aux tank configuration set up, so overhead bins and space under the seats in front of you crammed to the max! Just set payload at 100%. And I've set up the cockpit to look as old as possible, also with the eyebrow windows (stuff some charts in there if you need to, or just enjoy the extra view). Maybe a little bit of a modernized 707 feeling on long hauls, although a tad bit slower in cruise.

And there were a few so called 737-700ER's in Japan a while back which are essentially the same. I'll call it that as well, since BBJ sounds too posh.

Quite a versatile little thing. Go lightweight and try super short runways and cramped ramps at tiny remote airstrips, or load up to the max and fly in and out of larger airports. Range is around 6,000 nm if you cut back on the payload. I like it!

A man after my own heart - esp the eyebrow windows! All reasons I specified the BBJ myself, especially trying to cram it into tiny little strips it has no IRL business doing. 😎

Interesting note on the MTOW the Aussies use 🤙

Although I chose just one plane (the Black Square Bonanza)

We have at least a common point 😀

For longevity, depth and sense of ownership... it would have to be the A2A Comanche.

I bet that after flying liners IRL, you would choose a G/A aicraft 🙂

US and EU helo main rotors generally spin in opposite directions, so the corrective anti-torque pedal push is also opposite (or “backwards” as Ryan correctly stated it 😂).

Or you could do the whole Russian Kamov coaxial main rotors and skip the tail rotor all together 😎

In terms of engine failure, give me a helo ANY day. While it’s dangerous to try for a hover autorotation, you can still get them down onto just about any parking lot or very small patch of grass.

Yes, I think biz jets are probably the new sweet spot, and if the hotstart challenger jet was on the platform I’d probably go with that
