August 30Aug 30 I was flying MYNN (Nassau) to EGLL last night and halfway into the flight, it just crashed to the desktop; no error message or anything. I was right in the middle of the Atlantic at FL370, so no other scenery would have been loaded. It's the first CTD I've had in ages, is there any way I can find out what the reason for it was? August 30Aug 30 You can check your windows error logs, though the first thing to always check is any sign of overheating. Another common cause is an addon, so worth running msfs without addons (just to check). Maybe also a new piece of software, windows update or driver update is to blame - have you done any of those things recently (graphics driver particularly). August 30Aug 30 I had a similar incident, and from what I gathered from the Windows EVENT VIEWER some update might have happend while flying, and it seemed to be related to some AMD core components. I have since disabled automatic installation in the AMD Install Manager. No further incident since, but that may be coincidence. But seeing you having an AMD Motherboard, it may be worth checking. August 30Aug 30 That just confirms that MSFS2024 crashed, but the cause could potentially have been outside of the MSFS2024 ecosystem. What airliner addon were you flying? That would be my primary suspect. Or of you use Navigraph, problematic data can cause instant CTDs when you reach the problematic waypoint. September 1Sep 1 If it happened once in a long time then it's probably not worth stressing over, this can happen to any game/program at any time, if you get multiple CTDs then you should start to worry but then you can at least start to diagnose better. Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
September 1Sep 1 There is ONE area that very rarely gets a mention when it comes to CTDs, the connection or disconnection of a USB port. I've managed to recreate CTDs several times with this. Sometimes a loose connection or simply plugging in a USB wireless dongle for a pair of headphones for example, will cause a crash just as the USB drivers recycle.Don't know if its the case for the OP but just putting it out there.
