Featured Replies

Sim Update 7.1 released to production earlier today, but we also have a new test build (SU7.2, 1.9.22.0) now available to those enrolled in the optional beta. See the full notes here:

General Bug Fixes

  • [Aerodynamics] Fixed an issue where helicopters can experience excessive RPM and unexpected lift when the Turbulence setting in Assistances was set to Realistic.

  • [UI] Fixed an issue where the values in the in-flight Camera menu were not being correctly read / set.

SDK

  • [SDK] Fixed a crash that occurs when “custom simconnect events with numerical id” are used with F:KeyEvent.

INTERESTING that the helo issue was separate from the drag issue fixed in 7.1 🧐

I'm surprised they haven't mentioned the controls menu bug. Every time I try to interact with it, the sim freezes for about 10 seconds or so. It's crazy.

maybe it's conflict with some of your addons that do have their own panel in toolbar menu

it happened to me

Well, if I want to change the button for my breaks, id go to the control tab in the toolbar. Whenever I try to search for the function, the sim freezes for about 10 or so seconds.

Same here. Super annoying.

Maybe the workaround is to hit Escape to come out of the flight temporarily , then go to Settings, then Controls? This worked for me yesterday.

Now I'm curious about that helicopter lift issue...
Just a few weeks ago I have started using a physical rudder for my computer setup. Before that, I was just using the twist axis of my joystick... Anyways, I wanted to test it with helicopters then I went with my two fav ones: the Bell-222 and the Mi-17.

But both of them were a total disaster: the Bell was almost impossible to control and any minimal movement on the collective axis would result in the helicopter jumping up to, or falling down from the sky. It made the flight almost uncontrollable but I blamed it on my inexperience with a rudder. With the Mi-17, which is heavier and "calmer" so to say, things were a bit better but still the response of the helicopter to collective axis was very erratic, especially on slow taxi.

Now that I read about this 7.2 update, I wonder if my issues with the collective could be related to that bug ? My turbulences are indeed set to "realistic" in the sim, so.... I guess I'll have to give it another try tonight.
