Ray, If you've never tried Little Navmap I'd give it a whirl. I'm very impressed. Two things it does that EFBv2 doesn't do right now - Displays Topographical data and it supports X-Plane. Here's a screen grab from my flight right now. Running over network on my iMac with Parallels and Win 7.

Wow. Couldn't agree more. I'm in the middle of my first flight with it. It runs flawlessly over a network and the features it offers are amazing. Certainly worth the donation i've sent him.

Absolutely. The only big thing in its favour is it supports XP11; probably justifying it's price if one off, but not every eighteen months. I see it's written by the same guy, who has just edited his FS Nav website to suit.

Hi David, I'll be honest and say in my thirty years of simming, I've never heard of FS Tramp. I was a dedicated user of FS Navigator so i'll be sure to try it later. Off to my local airfield flying radio control 3m gliders 🙂

Rick, You would never, as far as i'm aware, set a Flex temp as low as 24. Typical temps are 54 to 68. This is probably what's throwing your V speeds off. In effect you're telling the MDU you have way more power than you actually have. For your next flight i'd forget a Flex take off and just push the levers all the way forward to TOGA. Just be aware you will hit acceleration point at 1000' AGL very quickly at which point levers to CLB. Watch the FD and retract flaps when indicated. This can take some time if you are close to MGW. Good luck! Just a thought, if you are still having problems maybe a YT video might help.

Damn, damn and damn. After having one eventful flight I thought Hi Fi's suggestion of changing simconnect Port had worked. Nope. EGKK - LDSP, somewhere over France, up pops the window on the Client running AS. Numerous clicks eventually clear it, but...2 secs later.. AS appears to work normally behind the error window but of course you can't click on anything. If you ignore it for a long period, any attempt to use AS results in a lock-up which can only be cured by exiting via Task Manager. Of course I could fix this by installing AS on the Server but that would rather defeat the purpose. I'm pretty sure it's a network setting that needs adjusting somewhere as I lose connection to EFBv2 periodically on the Client but....the EFB Client is smart enough to re-establish connection within a second or two. Please, another suggestion or Port to try. Can I also suggest less haste in closing a Ticket; particularly when I said I would report back when I had chance to try your suggestion.

Ok, I did a full reinstall, booted everything up.....All looked good. Departed Gatwick outbound for Palma. Crossed France. EFB and AS in harmony 🙂 Then, 225mls to arrival and up it pops. GRRR..... I click Ok a number of times and it goes. 3 maybe 4secs later...back again. I click until it goes again. At this point i'm shouted for Dinner. I return around 25mins later and as I click on Ok I begin counting. 134....134(!!) clicks later it goes, only to re-appear after a few secs......FFS this is ridiculous!! I hard exit it and finish the flight normally. Damian, Kostas, I've been a loyal Patron of yours since Active Sky's inception many Sims ago. But this.......this is pushing my patience to the extreme. It's been present for the last couple of builds but i'm not sure exactly when. If it's a Windows or Network error I hope it can be fixed. I reported theis before but thought i had fixed it by making sure I loaded a Flight Plan every flight. Nope. This is how they were terminating. Log attached. Brian, did a reinstall cure it? Some flights I get the same error box pop up every 5 - 10 secs. It's driving me f****** nuts!!

It's interface may well be way out of date but it's functionality and features are still streaks above anything else on the market.

Same here Ray. I have a perfectly running sim, I'm in no rush to go through all that waiting for apps to update, should this release break them. Tempted to wait for v5.

Daniel, If you can't enter approach speeds that's not a fault of the plane, that's down to your ineptitude. Sorry 😞 I have twenty three flights logged so far. She is a great aircraft. Where exactly are you coming unstuck. I'm sure we can resolve it.

I'll add my congratulations on a very well presented and informative set of guides.

The only crashes I have had in v4 have all been attributable to third party add ons. I am certainly no XP 'Evangilist'as my posts across this board and other sites I frequent will attest to. I was merely pointing out to a friend the benefits of moving to a 64bit platform. The only reason I brought it up was at Ray's disappointment that GSX would not be developed further for 32bit. And Ray, sorry but I've never been taken by that particular 'jack of all trades..' anecdote. When the great engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel told the world he was going to build a ship made of iron, his contemporaries said much the same; he should go back to doing what he was good at, building bridges and tunnels. It didn't turn out too bad for him. Apologies for any forum malfractions.

That's one of the best things about XP. Once you've bought the initial program you never need buy anything else should you not wish to. There is ten times the freeware available including mesh, textures for the entire world.

By the time you're comfortable with v4.2 we'll all probably be flying XPlane 12 if it continues to improve at it's current. Graphics and immersion factor is so very good. There are some excellent aircraft for it now including a free almost study level B737-800. I was hesitant at first but so glad I did. Give it a try Ray, I guarantee you'll enjoy it. I spend 50/50 flying time between it and P3D.

I did a KBOS-EGLL yesterday. Very nice. I've not been brave enough to try the WX Radar. I couldn't take a CTD chance on such a long flight. I'll wait until they give a 100% fix for all.

Sorry, a couple of years ago I would have agreed with you but not now. Yes, I do think Aerosoft's LHR is better and I use it.

Crazy decision I think. Anyone ask the ATC guys n' gals their thoughts. Or how many undisclosed near misses there are. Throw in another runway, maybe north/south ops, and I believe we'll see a mid air at some point. Hope i'm wrong.
