Has anyone taken a real ground school course just for flight simming? im tempted to but I’d rather not spend the money. Any good books or online resources ?

I was going to get it but now I'm concerned about the frame rate issue.

I want to be able to inject a percentage of something failing when I'm flight simming. I know there is a random failure(s) within x amount of seconds but that only goes to 600 seconds if I recall which is only 10 minutes. I don't know how to program but I'm wondering what would be the easiest language to learn to do something like this? I'm considering maybe LUA with FSUIPC? (I have the registered version) this would be for P3d v4.5 Thanks, as any help would be appreciated.

I'm getting there. I took the checklist that came with it and have been trimming things out that aren't modeled, etc.

P3dv4.5 I just took this for a quick flight and I find it's a bit much for me. The checklist is very small and tedious. Is there a checklist that would cover just what's relevant in sim?

Yes, I just bought it last night and this was my first flight this morning. I had the same thing. I hit the Q key to shut off all sounds, I had it off fairly long, not sure if that has anything to do with it. then when I turned it back on the sound was gone and all was nice and quiet. If that doesn't work, try alt+enter, go into windows mode and then full screen again.

Yeah, I've been thinking of KSBA or KPSP I might go with KPSP since KSBA is close to the water and I'm afraid early mornings would easily fog in. I could make some runs from KPSP to KVNY, KCNO, KSAN, KSBA, KMRY and then out to KSEZ, KLAS, KPHX, etc. That could work well, my "hire" could run the stuff into the LAX area.

I know this is silly but hear me out... If you would have an air charter company flying PC12's etc in California you would normally fly into KSMO/KHHR and even into LAX in some cases. In the simulator world, my computer can't handle that area and I don't want to shut off all the graphics when I fly in and out of there. But at the same time, I'm trying to keep this realistic. The only way I know would be to "assign" those flights going into those airports (KLAX, KSMO, KHHR, etc.) to "other pilots." Can you think of any other "stories" to come up with that a charter pilot wouldn't fly into those areas? Could you be assigned say the "outer skirts" area? This seems a bit hokey but... Thanks

I'm trying to put together a charter flight passenger simulator that would choose charter flights for me. So 500nm very rare This is helpful.

When it comes to charter flights. If anyone is in the know. Will people charter a 500nm flight in a small single engine piston plane? Say like a C206? The reason I ask is someone told me who I believe used to be in the charter flying industry that if you were to buy a 206 you would have to be willing to fly that out to a 500nm radius from your home base airport. It's hard for me to believe that someone would actually want to do this.

I can't this bird to climb. I take off but no power I have it firewalled and less than 30 seconds I stall, I'm climbing out shallow, gear up and flaps up is there something I'm not doing right? I have flown this bird a lot in the past and it has worked great. In fact, it has been one of the best Carenado jets for me. I don't get this stuff. I'm taking off from Aerosoft's KASE (Aspen Extended) can anyone help me?

I’m debating S340 or ATR which is easier to fly as well as pre flight and startup etc? I’m looking for a very quick turn around time.

So I'm looking at the big four ATR S340 S360 F50 Which is the easiest on the frames? Which has the best system, given what we have to work with. I'm leaning toward the S340, maybe picking up the S360 for cargo. I've heard rumors that the ATR is hard on the frames?
